Of course, but the issue is you get far enough down like they are right now where catching a team like the caliber of the Phillies or Dodgers just becomes really unlikely. 

So you can either coast to the end these last few weeks and focus on rest and health going into your WC matchup or you can exhaust all your efforts going for that bye all the way til it isn't mathematically possible and probably end up having to play in that WC round anyway.

Rough games for us east coasters. 

Before bedtime thought - there shouldn't be any days where Frelick is in the lineup and Mitchell is not.  We have to roll with Mitchell and hope to unlock another solid outfielder.  Frelick doesn't seem to have that potential given there's zero power there.
