Repeat trade targets

I saw Blake Snell's name pop up as the opposing starter tonight and my first thought randomly was ... "I feel like we were rumored to trade for Ian Snell like 6 consecutive years once upon a time.."

Which got me thinking, which players can you remember being "targeted" as mid season trade acquisitions for multiple years/the most?

More recently, I feel like Whit Merrifield's name was an annual thing for 3 or 4 straight years.

Who else am I forgetting?

I don't know how this fits into the conversation, but I feel like the trade deadline has evolved over the years. The trade deadline used to be wild. Teams would give up top prospects for rentals, even relievers, to try to go big. Now it's a much more conservative market. Even the most aggressive buyers realize the value of the cost controlled aspects of their prospects and younger players and are much stingier about selling those assets. As a result the deadline seems less exciting than 5-10 years ago with few big names being acquired. 

Unless you're a big fish like the Dodgers or Yankees. Then you can basically just have a guy like Jack Flaherty for reasons I don't really understand..

Remember 5-6 years ago someone in the transaction forum was wanting a Kevin Mench/Christian Yelich LF platoon?  Nevermind the fact that Mench had been out of baseball entirely for pertnear 10 years.  That one was something.

Maybe not trade-for multiple times, but Melvin's fascination with K-Rod was a hoot.  I think he traded for K-Rod once, signed him three times, and traded him away twice.

Going back to the earlier 2000's Adam Dunn and Zach Duke were popular names.  I believe there was even a Ryan Braun for Zach Duke proposal. 

Puig was also a rumored target a few times and Joc Pederson.
