Have we had any clarification if Ty Duvall is actually on the development list in AAA or did he transition to a coaching role as bullpen catcher?

Duvall may not see action in 2025, but he counts against the 165 stateside roster limit, which I imagine is why you are inquiring. This is based on the same appreciated courtesy review the Brewers provide when we compile the lists for minor league free agency and Rule 5 eligibility.

Looks like the Brewers re-signed Bruce Zimmerman to a minor league contract after he opted out earlier this week. Maybe he didn't have suitors? Or maybe he got a bit more money on his deal?

Tyson Hardin to the 7-Day IL (hopefully this is just an innings limit thing and not a real injury as he's jumped from 40 to currently 84 innings)

Tyler Bryant to the 7-Day IL

Bayden Root promoted to AA from A+

I know he didn't get many innings in w/Milwaukee, but Zastryzny has been an asset in both his Brewer stints. Hope he makes it back here. A nice option for the "closer for the starter role" as they used to call it, coming in to close out the 5th or 6th inning.

Ugh. In one day both of the leading co-pitchers of the year hit the IL.  Again hope it's nothing serious for Hardin, and Crow was dealing with a lower body something when he was promoted, and you have to wonder if it's related to that or a new thing that popped up.

This is why you draft 20 pitchers in each draft.....

Braylon Payne placed on Carolina’s 7-day IL retro to 7/26.

If we remember back to last week, Payne was hit on the head running to third base during what turned into a double steal in the bottom of the 1st inning (Peña had walked) on July 25th. It was a pick-off attempt back to 2B. Payne opened the first inning with an oppo single through the left side of the infield .extending his on base streak to 15 games. After Made K'd swinging, Payne stole 2B on a 2-0 count to Peña. In a 1-0 count to Bitonti the play in question happened: 1:09:55 on the replay. We didn't get a good look live as the camera was late to cut over but it was certainly concerning as Payne very clearly was shook - he was stumbling and falling to the dirt as he tried to get up. Both trainers came out and he was pulled after a two minute delay. The hope here is it was just a head jostling mild concussion. The concern is a possible skull fracture.

In 4 years of college ball (61 relief innings) he has a career ERA of 7.08.  Strikeouts were not the problem (94), but walks definitely were.  Much better results in his 9.1 IP in the frontier league.  Feels like a project for the Brewers.  That's some nugget mining though.
