Phantom IL for Thomas. To the lab and then I assume he gets one last chance

Looking forward to seeing what Mears can do in a full season with Milwaukee.

Going to be tough keeping Thomas active for 90 days this season with all of these guys eventually coming back. Maybe his rehab assignment in the minors will be an audition to see if he is ever brought back up to the Brewers.

Since Myers wasn’t on the 26-man roster, don’t we need to make one more move to add two players (Mears & Priester)?

I might be wrong, but I believe there was an open spot after Grant Wolfram was optioned then DFA'd/traded.

I came here to ask about this move as well. Do we know for a fact that Rodriguez can be optioned? Could there be a deal where his contract stipulates he cannot be optioned? I guess I can see the long relief angle but keeping Peguero vs Rodriguez seems like it should be an obvious choice.
