Woody got a ground out and pop out to open the sixth before losing his command and walking the third batter of the inning then getting pulled.

Got in an extra up/down and seven pitches over his previous longest rehab outings.

Still throwing under 95?

Jeferson Figueroa relieved Woody and allowed the inherited runner to score totaling 1 H | 2 BB | 3 K over his 1.1 IP of work.

Patricio Aquino followed and closed out the last two frames with 1 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 1 K to pick up his first save of the season in the 4-2 Wisco win.

Di Turi comes through, down to his last strike! Laces one to left field

Ok. Who had DiTuri out-OPS-ing and with more HR than Bitonti on April 30th?

Eric B is in a real struggle right now and just not hitting the power to gaps or out.
‘But still DiTuri has done well in this month after last years struggles.

Was literally going back and forth between these two (and about a dozen others) for the last couple spots when filling out my prospect ballot earlier today.

I only caught the last 1.2 IP but I think he topped out at 94 in those innings

The AA Shuckers have won 10 of 14 games and have RHP Coleman Crow (1.69 ERA, 6 Ks in 5.1 IP) making his 3rd start of 2025, aiming for a 2-0 series lead at Columbus. 1B Luke Adams has homered in 3 of his last 5 games (8 RBIs).

AAA Nashville looks to double their series lead at Gwinnett behind RHP Elvin Rodriguez, who makes his 3rd appearance (2nd start) for the team. 1B Wes Clarke has 10 hits in his last 5 games.

I am late to this party tonight so am behind in both games (I started from the beginning):

Let me just say...

That RHP Coleman Crow escape in the second inning was a thing of beauty. He was robbed of a glorious K looking at the knees facing the lead-off hitter protecting a 1-0 lead. That batter poked an oppo single into left field two pitches later. SS Cooper Pratt absolutely air-mailed a routine DP ball and throw to 2B - air mailing 2B Zavier Warren (nowhere close according to the announcer) and into deep right field foul territory. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Nobody down. Crow absolutely does not flinch. K's the side. His combo of curve, slider/cutter (?), with the ability to throw in that late moving heater anywhere in the zone is a zesty zesty combination. He has 5 K through two frames. Just really intriguing work.

Rather interesting goings-ons in the late games:

  • Elvin Rodriguez throws 3 shutout innings (39 pitches) and comes out for Garrett Stallings (first appearance in 12 days)
  • Anthony Siegler singled and scored on an Adam Hall triple (Hall's holding up better than I expected at this level), then ripped his 3rd homer (106.4mph, 381 feet) in the 4th inning
  • Coleman Crow faced 2-on (single, error), nobody out in the 2nd inning, then promptly K'd the next 3 batters swinging. He's up to 53 pitches through 3 shutout innings, which is probably his limit at this stage of his build up. Let's see
  • Biloxi scored in the first inning without the benefit of a hit, thanks to wildness of the Columbus pitcher, but we also had a caught stealing (Pratt) and pick-off (Lara) in the first 2 innings. Zavier Warren then notched his 3rd homer of 2025 for a 3-0 advantage in the 3rd inning.

I have no idea how Seigler managed to smack that long ball but man alive did he smack that long ball. Inside and chest high breaker, by my eyes, he gets in front of it and just rips it high and over the right field wall. 3-0 Sounds in the 3rd there. Heck of a hit. His third of his season.

Meanwhile, 3B Brock Wilken has been hit by an inside pitch. He just walked for the 26th time in 2025. I believe that is the Southern League lead?

Whewwww Zavi crushed that hanger. Just as the announcer was talking about the Clingstones starter able to touch 100 and sprinkle in the slider at 89-91, he hangs a belt high slider and Warren just crushes it. Glorious. 2-0 Shuckers.

Well, we let Coleman Crow attempt the 4th inning and he made it 4 pitches (two singles). LHP Nate Peterson has come in and recorded a K, RBI double, sac fly. Biloxi's lead is down to 3-2.

David McCabe of Columbus is second with 17 entering the evening.

I am so appreciative we get a veteran presence behind the dish for Nashville like C Jorge Alfaro. He is a horse. Just an absolute horse back there. So solid.

RHP Evan McKendry gives up 4 runs on 5 hits in the 6th inning, as a 3-0 advantage is more than wiped out. This is McKendry's first action in 11 days. He's basically a long reliever these days and this is his first blow up inning of 2025. He's taken out after 22 pitches (15 strikes) and Easton McGee records the 3rd out (weak grounder).

Sounds trail 4-3 heading to the 7th inning.

Luke Adams two run bomb after a Zavi leadoff single has two more on the board for Biloxi.

But that ain’t it. Darrien Miller triple and Ramon Rodriguez sac fly adds one more.

Now 6-2 top of six as Bladimir Restituyo has just singled.

That’s how you get the 11th highest wRC+  in the league while hitting well below the Mendoza line.

Just a comically obscene walk rate.

His .183 ISO was tied with Adams for 6th in the Southern League entering tonight so he’s at least been doing damage in the rare instances he’s getting hits.
