6 weeks would mean something went wrong.  He has one more rehab in Nashville and then should be pitching in Milwaukee.

Thought he has tendonitis in right ankle now? That can't be beneficial for his shoulder pitching with that.

Seems like a good time to bump one of these pitching staff discussion threads with Woody coming up and Patrick being sent down to AAA and discussion going on in several different places in regards to all the pitching moves and deserving promotions.

There are many moves I suspect will happen on the horizon as well.

Myers and Payamps are pitching well in AAA and are deserving of consideration for a return to MKE just to name a couple.

It is quite something what we have on our hands in terms of starting pitching both quality and depth. I can't remember ever being close to this on our team...

1-5 Peralta, Miz, Priester, Quintana, Woodruff ... that's a good major league staff

6-10 Cortes (soon), Patrick, Henderson, Myers, Hall ... that's a green but intriguing major league staff

11+ Ashby, Gasser (?!), Carlos Rodriguez, etc

As you prefaced I imagine there will be moves made in the next month to thin this group and add either to the big league team or fill some missing pieces in the system. Quintana is seemingly the obvious one, hopefully Cortes comes back firing and we get a worthwhile offer but from there it gets a little stickier. Peralta only if we get a whale package offer, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of Henderson/Myers/Patrick get moved in a deal for a big leaguer.

I haven’t been feeling good about Chad Patrick starts lately but his last 2 were good against COL and MIA so I thought they would stick with him for longer. He might be back soon though.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Patrick wouldn't have been available for the next 4 days regardless, so makes sense sending him down as opposed to someone who would be. With the allstar break he can still be recalled after it if need be, having only missed one potential start. I think he'll be back after a Quintana/Cortes trade.

McCalvy reported Cortez having more soreness than normal after his rehab start, although he’s supposedly still on schedule to make his next start.

Count me as skeptical we get anything more out of him this year.
