No mention of the Brewers in the final 4 at CBS Sports.  For that reason, I expect him to be a Brewer in less than 24 hours. 😆

Final four for Suárez?

Diamondbacks slugging third baseman Eugenio Suárez is the top talent thought to be available before Thursday's deadline, and that's for good reason. He's slashing .248/.321/.577 with 36 homers and 87 RBI in 105 games entering Wednesday.

He's in his walk year, and with the D-backs having slid from contention, they're actively shopping him. Any number of contenders could use such a power bat in the lineup, and MLB.com reports that the final market for Suárez is taking shape with the Mariners, Cubs, Tigers, and Phillies as the leading contenders for his services at this fairly late hour. Suffice it to say having those four in the mix will drive up the price for Suárez. Don't be surprised if Arizona targets "close to ready" talents as the core of the return, as they'll look to return to contention in 2026.

Cant expect to keep all the young SP's.

Letson is 3/4 years away and alot can happen in that time. He is the exact SP you trade to get a player like Suarez.

I think Letson is probably 2.5 years away, not 3 to 4.  I would deal him for 2 months of Suarez.  Ned a player with at least another season of control if you want to start adding our blue-chip guys.

The most I would go for Suarez is Lara. He's turned himself into a legit prospect and the Brewers are light on OFrs in the minors, but the Brewers have Perkins. Throw in Carlos Rodriguez too.

The Dbacks would take the QO over that package.

I know there are some here who'd like to snag him (I am not in that group, hate to overpay for a 2 month rental)

The Athletic’s Patrick Mooney reports that “it’s no secret that the Cubs are looking at [Eugenio] Suárez as a potential upgrade at third base.”
Matt Shaw has not performed up to the level that the Cubs hoped for in his rookie season, and Justin Turner can’t be counted on as a full-time third baseman at this stage in his career, so it’s no surprise that the Cubs are looking for a new hitter to man the hot corner. Suárez already has 35 home runs on the season with 85 RBI and a .928 OPS in 98 games this season. He’s a free agent at the end of the season and seems all but assured to be traded at the deadline, with the Cubs and Yankees as the two favorites.

Suárez would definitely bring power to any lineup, but I agree it feels risky to give up too much for just a short-term rental. Unless the price comes way down, I’d rather see the Brewers focus on longer-term pieces than overpay for a couple of months of production.

Ummm ... this idea is past its expiration date
