18-year-old Dominican RHP Derlin Garcia is definitely one to keep tabs on. Today's 2 1/3 IP of 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K work in the DSL Gold's bounce back 6-1 'W' 'simply bolstered an already impressive season long performance. He improved to 3-1 overall after 7 appearances spanning 19 1/3 IP. 2 GS. 22 K-to-6 BB and a very healthy 0.93 WHIP.

It looks like the DSL Brewers Blue snuck five tying runs across in the top of the sixth before their game was suspended by inning's end. AND, they've officially scored it a Tie. 😅 It will be a 5-5 Tie in the record books. While the Blue likely feel a sense of accomplishment, the Astros Orange will ponder how their sure victory slipped away late at their Home Park.

From what I've been able to find, Garcia is a 4FB/CV guy. Fastball in the 90-91 range and a nice looking curveball.

Robert Gasser makes his 6th rehab start (3 IP, 0 R, 4 Ks in 42 pitches last week) and Jake Bauers his 1st (last played August 13), as AAA Nashville looks to grab a 2-1 series lead at Durham.

2025 first round pick 3B Andrew Fischer makes his professional debut with High-A Wisconsin and RHP Tanner Gillis (1.78 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 6.9 K/9 in 70.2 High-A/Low-A IP) gets the start as they seek a 2-1 home series lead over Great Lakes. What a top 4(!): Made-Pena-Fischer-Dinges.

18-year old LHP Enderson Mercado (4 IP, 1 R, 5 Ks last week) makes his 4th appearance (2nd start) for Low-A Carolina as they aim for a 3-1 series advantage at Fayetteville. 1B Eric Bitonti continues to lead the Carolina League in homers (18), RBIs (67) and Ks (142).

Eric Brown Jr. makes his 2nd career outfield start (and 1st in left field) and RHP Alexander Cornielle (2.37 ERA with 18 Ks in last 19 IP) toes the slab first for AA Biloxi, as they shoot for a 2-1 home series lead over Columbus.

Made singles, Pena singles, and oh some guy named Fischer singles and gets an RBI. He seems like he could be a good ball player.

And now Dinges up. I like this top 4 in the line up.

And Fischer steals a base 😳

Enderson Mercado with a good start tonight for the young man. 5.2 IP, 7 K and no walks. 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and a couple of errors.

EBJ draws a walk to load the bases. And Vargas ground to third and he can't field it cleanly, everyone is safe, and it's 2-1.

The inning was extended due to a error on the CF, he had it and it just popped out of his glove and Wood got to 2nd and Lara to third. Then a couple of outs and a walk by EBJ.

Fly ball to the CF now and this time it was caught for out #3, but the Shuckers get a run back.

Cornielle.  2 run homer in the 1st, then a very good and efficient 2nd.

Running back into problems in the 3rd. 😥 Walk, then SB, then double and another double.

Man he has not really shown any significant improvement. Still a nice arm but falling behind others in the organization, I wonder if this is his last month as a Brewer farmhand.

Gillis was rolling. Then a double to left, and a grounder that Fischer fields cleanly and solid throw, looks good.

Next a chopper between SS and 3B and Fischer maybe not a quick laterally, I mean it would have been a great play to get it, but he may not have elite 3B defense, but looked like he was able to handle the routine stuff.

Then a SB and a throwing error on Dinges - his arm is good, but those throws to second are what will limit him at catcher. He is athletic and has a good arm, but accuracy to 2nd is not great. Again could Made have fielded it to prevent it from getting past him, well yes, but was it a good throw not quite. A run scores and George gets to third on that play.

And now another hit and it's 2 run inning and only 1 out. Now 2 outs. Gillis hopefully can another out and get through 3 innings with a lead.

Ugh Cornielle gives up a homer to Zebrowski and it's 6-1 Clingstones. Dang it.

Speaking of HRs, yikes this Gelof guy on the Loons, another HR this series (a 2 run HR yesterday and at least a lot of RBIs this series it seems) and give the Loons the lead 4-3. Dang it double.

@Joseph Zarr - Luis Castillo broke out of his slump. Big time. Roped deep to right, and it is 3-0 TRats.  Very very nice.

And with that jack, he is up to a 0.063 BA and a 0.384 OPS. He's going to need a good 10 more.🫣

He had two long flies yesterday. This week has been very charitable in the starters giving multiple long balls to the same hitters in every series but Carolina's. Very strange.
