Granted it goes back to when he was a less successful pitcher, but going into this game the Brewers have a 1.165 OPS vs Boyd.

Eh, he ran into one there, but he’s got a .343 OPS with the Cubs. Not someone I’d be keen on getting the 35 plate appearances that he’s gotten so far with the Cubs.

Cubs are throwing their ace. Brewers are pitching their minor league pitcher. Cubs SHOULD win this game 

Cubs also need to win all 4 remaining games to really have any realistic shot at the division. Even 3-2 cubs series win would only gain them one game in 4 days

Agreed, it is not the end of the world if we lose this one. 

It would be ideal to at least take 3 of 5 this week to take the tiebreaker and a huge lead, but 2 out of 5 would not be devastating.

Yeah, I'll take them getting Boyd out of the way against Patrick and punt that one.  Their (arguably) best pitcher against our worst.  Give them one, try to get to the bullpen as much as you can, and then get at least one of the last three games.  

If they get one of the two today and then one of the last two I'll be ecstatic.

It's fine, Patrick just needs to go a few innings here. All the Brewers need this game is some length from him. Getting back into the Cubs' bullpen would also be another 'win'.
