Apparently the $20mm cap on spending is not enforceable or teams are treating it as non enforceable and are not scared of the committee watching this.  PSU, LSU and Auburn are rumored to be going anywhere between $10-16mm over the $20mm maximum.

Saw a tweet/X that said that Iowa State now has 16 players on their roster.  And they had a winning record last year.

College football needs to make scholarships and NIL multi-year contracts.  Take a scholarship and it's a minimum 3-year contract.  Want to leave earlier, then just take revenue sharing and whatever NIL you can find on your own.

If Indiana runs the table and wins this they have to be considered amongst the greatest squads ever in NCAA history

Indiana smoking Alabama in the Rose Bowl was not on my radar before the season

Bob Bostad had some really good offensive lines when he was at Wisconsin but the cats he's got at Indiana are the best I've ever seen at that level.

I watch little college football, but I scheduled my day around this game.  Enjoyable on two levels: Indiana winning big, and 'Bama losing big.

Indiana Center was offensive MVP of the Rose Bowl. Wonder how often an O-Lineman has won? I'd bet zero.

If I were the top ranked transfer college QB, I'd ask for a ridiculous amount of money a year and wait for someone to give it to me.

Funny how Wisconsin, as bad as they were this year played Indiana and Oregon on the road better than Texas Tech and Alabama did respectively.

I think Mark Cuban helped out in recruiting... a little.

Indiana, 50 runs, 16 passes.  Emperor Alvarez somewhere in Madison with a big grin on his face.

If Indiana has a weakness, it's pass blocking.  Teams have to be able to have good DB play and cover schemes to force Indiana to pass block for more than 3 seconds.  UW was able to get to Mendoza for 5 sacks in their game.

To beat Indiana a team needs to have a really good defense, both run defense and pass defense.  And a competent offense...

The quarterfinals changed my view on the expanded playoff. Wow is it refreshing to see the scheduling and rankings biases exposed.

Am I right in stating that for the 2 years of this expanded playoff, the only team who received a bye that actually won their first game was Indiana yesterday by curb-stomping an Alabama team that didn't belong?

This is correct.  Makes you wonder if the layoff is just too long or if it's something else.

It's a pretty small sample.

The rumor going around is that Cuban gave $15M for the 2025 season.  Now, even more for 2026.

No wonder they are doing so well.

What if Indiana in 2024 had a strength of schedule that, instead of 14th in the Big Ten/55th in the nation, was the toughest in the Big Ten/top 5 in the nation, like Wisconsin's in 2025, and they finish something like 6-6? They played two ranked teams in 2024 and got blown out by both of them.

Does Cuban bankroll the program in 2025 if they finish 6-6 in 2024? Are they where they are simply because of a lucky break in their schedule?
