So Many teams have imploded this year down the stretch.    Can the tigers be left out of the playoffs altogether?     Wow

and there are so many huge series between teams in the playoff hunt the last week.    Thank god we’re done.    I can enjoy other teams misery for a couple of weeks

Not if you include the tiebreaker. And I don’t understand NOT including the tiebreaker, as it literally decides who advances.

What's the Twins magic number?

Time for my Official Playoff Anxiety!

😕😉

Wait, what I've been feeling about what's going to happen in the playoffs (and, glancing at the IL, what appears to be happening as we speak) was Unofficial Playoff Anxiety?

A close win at the end, as I understand British slang.  😇😁

Did they party in the locker room or keep it subdued? I didn’t see. I guess it probably feels weird to celebrate after a loss. Maybe they’ll save it for clinching the 1.

Big party.     Winning the division is the big deal.     They aren’t going to do anything for number one seed

I get it. Baseball is a long and brutal season and winning the division is a major accomplishment. But it is still weird to me sliding around on champagne after losing and dropping 2/3 to St. Louis. They shouldn't let a random loss stop them from celebrating, but it is a little weird.

I don't feel great about this team right now but trying to remember this isn't really the team that's going to be playing in a couple weeks. The #1 is all but wrapped, we should be resting guys as much as we can.

Agree with all this. It was a dismal loss today. But a division title these days is an incredible accomplishment over a very long season. We're awfully banged up and I don't know what to expect when things get tense in the next few days, but I'm very glad we're here.

I actually went down to St Louis yesterday, first time for a game there. Wish they could have put a better team out there yesterday, seemed like Jansen and Hoskins were up there for every key at bat and never could get the big hit. Gasser pitched well except for the 2 run shot. Fedde soaked up a bunch of innings but he started horribly and it was pretty much over after his first few batters. Winning the division is great but you are not going to see highlights years from now watching the Cubs lose to win the division. Couldn't even come out to the field to recognize the Brewers fans there because there was a youth game after. Hopeful for much more significant celebrations yet to come.

-162? Oh man, that team is such a joke right now. Completely unwatchable.

And Brewers fans should stop complaining about Attanasio. He's a pretty good baseball owner. It can get A LOT worse, just look across the St Croix.

I didn't realise the Twins have a worse run differencial then the White Sox.

Woodruff injury - check.

Worst Packer game I’ve ever seen - check.

Another loss to the Cardinals - check.

division champs … check.

I Guess Anders Holm GIF by Workaholics

the WORST Packers game you've ever seen?

you must have missed the NFC championship game in 2014.

(and a handful of other playoff Packers games over the past couple decades for that matter)

Well, we pretty much know that Murphy will run out some pretty poor line-ups in the coming week.

Just have to weather the storm, and hopefully, good things are on the horizon.

I really don't like the idea of resting guys more than normal though.  Hitters have to hit, and pitchers  have to pitch...

doesn't seem to be in pat murphy's DNA to rest guys.

Compared to other managers, he rides his guys into the ground.

There have definitely been more painful ones. At least this was only a regular season game that could ultimately be meaningless.

I guess I mean worst as the most inexplicable loss ever as to how we managed to lose that game that we had no business losing against a team that was not going to generate 13 points in 4 minutes on their own without some serious help.
