MLF already in midseason form calling the WR screen on 3rd and 5.

And now 3rd and 10.

I'm sure that winning the first preseason game is the top priority

Defense has got some pressure on the QB but otherwise hasn't been able to stop Pittsburgh's offense.

Hopefully he can at least make winning their first playoff game a priority this season

Matt LaFleur said that he didn't even get to say hello to Aaron Rodgers before or after the game.

"That was a bummer," he says. "Certainly a guy I have a ton of respect for. As long as he's not playing the Green Bay Packers, I'll always root for him."

I would imagine LaFleur loves Rodgers.

4 years of Rodgers/LaFleur = 11.75 wins per season.

3 years LaFleur - Rodgers = 9.67 wins per season.

The first three years with Rodgers still makes LaFleur's overall record look really, really good.

That says something when you consider that Rodgers put off retirement for one year to play for McCarthy.

I’m sure that Rodgers is well aware that MLF would be an OC or QB coach for some rebuilder right now without him.

Probably also didn’t appreciate MLF referring to Jordan Love as “the best QB he’s ever worked with” this last offseason.

Rodgers can go do a cold plunge in a dry lake bed.

Looking great on paper is one thing.  Performing is another.  But looking at that Steelers defense on paper, that group looks like it could be really, really good.

I think both Gute and MLF are in the top third of the league for their roles.  There are mistakes both have made, but I don't think people realize how hard their jobs are (especially in the heat of a game) or that there aren't too many people that would really be an upgrade.

Between Love and MLF, I vacillate on who is the one holding the other back... Early in his career, it was clearly Love making poor on the field decisions yet people attributed it to MLF. Love has improved, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve part of the blame.

But for the love of Lambeau... MLF give up the challenge flag to someone else!

I agree... but pre-season is an easy time to trash the HC. That and when you are playing like the best team in the league and you lose several of your most important players in a couple game stretch.

People don't remember when we lost Zach Bako-Bewele(formerly known as Zach Tom), Parsons, Watson when up by 11 vs the Broncos on the road with a... what, 9-2-1 record.

I would however say it was more MLF holding Love back last year. Maybe it was because of the OL, Kraft being injured, but we ran the ball too often on early downs when... our running game was not very good.

Golden was a bit raw as a rookie, though should have gotten more targets, but the idea he didn't get snaps is just... not accurate.

With Tom being healthy and hopefully Monk and Burton WINNING the jobs more than Belton and Banks LOSING the job(restructuring Banks was a mistake IMO)... our OL should be better. Especially with Morgan settling in at OT and playing much-much better than Walker last year(thus far). I know, I know, we can't tackle and threw a WR screen in the first pre-season game! Always the best indication of how the season will play out!

Gute definitely deserves credit for locking up Reed for cheaper than anyone would have guessed, Wyatt for below market value, didn't love the Woolen trade, but hoping Franklin can play the run well and Cooper is ready to break out.

Get to week 6(or whenever Parsons comes back) and I think this team has a good chance.... though the Rams are absolutely stacked.

He's put off retirement for a year for the last 4 years now. He's also the guy who openly campaigned for a "guy like McVay," when we hired Matt LaFleur.

It's also funny how people put everything on Rodgers for the following seasons when... Rogers was the QB when we were 6-9-1 the year before MLF got there and was clearly the only team close to Tampa in the post-season playing without their LT who got injured late in the year.

I do have little doubt Rodgers credits everyone's accomplishments with their proximity to him when he's not there.

It's a great sign that Nixon isn't happy with his standing in that CB room. He isn't good and if they're actually outplaying him and it's not coachspeak, that's a good thing.

How did that guy ever make it to the Pro Bowl last year? Did 50 other cornerbacks refuse the invitation?

PB has long been a joke, but Nixon isn't bad, he's just not good and shouldn't be your best CB. He's probably middle of the road CB2, so somewhere in the top 50 of corners. But my point was more that it's an area of concern on the team for me, but if he's actually being outplayed they may have solved the problem with the additions.

I hate this kind of thing and maybe it helps explain why we get so Charmin soft in crunch time.

You have an ascending edge rusher on your team being aggressive and just bull rushes Belton into Love. He doesn’t hit Love himself. He hits Belton into Love.

Do you get in the face of your young tackle for not doing his job and allowing that to happen?

No, let’s dress down the guy who actually brought it and tell him we don’t tolerate that kind of aggressive play.

My apologies to Trey Smack after his training camp struggles. Whatever changed in the kicking operation since then, he looks phenomenal.

I mean 59 dead center Nails and it hit the nets. He can hit 65 at altitude. Comfortably 60 is in range indoors. We have our weapon. Pinch me!!! I can not fathom they mess with this current snap and hold Op. No way.

Hopefully Jordan won’t be missing much time this season because Tyrod is balls.

It's hard to believe he's been in the league 16 years. It only seems like six to me, probably because he hasn't had much of a career.
