This feels like the ultimate litmus test - can you actually win ballgames with a lineup that, on paper, lacks real power? Maybe I’m off and a few of these guys have taken meaningful steps forward, but right now it’s a fair concern.

A lot is going to hinge on whether Jose Anderson or Handelfry Encarnacion can emerge as legitimate offensive threats and provide the lineup with some thunder. If even one of them pops, the whole outlook changes. There’s at least some underlying power upside elsewhere too. Luis Corobo, Frederi Montero, and Brady Ebel have shown flashes of juice, but it’s going to take more than flashes. Ebel, in particular, is described as a more well-rounded offensive profile, but whispers from the backfields suggest he's underrated in the thump department. 

The pitching staff is chock full of sleeper and deep cut types. The first months' worth of pitching data will go a long way towards identifying the next wave of helium arms in the system. Plenty of solid candidates.

I'm actually not positive if I'm going to head down to F-Ville. It's about an hour in the other direction for me... I might though. I appreciate everyone welcoming me with open arms last year, It's fun to have a place I can help cover Wilson in a way.

They really could've used that mudcat's roster from last year. Definitely would've brought in some fans.

Gotta be careful how many prospect diehards you think are in greater Wilson, it's tiny. Fans are there for the new stadium and experience. It was a school night, if the Friday-thru-Sunday crowds are in a similar 1,100-ish range, that'd be a surprise (and disappointment).

Not doubting that, especially seeing how Wilson is even further from Raleigh than Zebulon. Just total population + distance from major city = not many people wanna travel that far to watch an affiliate of an out-of-state team (I doubt there are many Brewers fans in the area). That being said, I would imagine a stacked roster of big offensive players would draw more of a crowd than one that's batting .161 as a team.

 

Hell, if you put the Timber rattlers roster on Beloit, i'd even go down there to watch and i dont even care about the marlins 😂

Here is my take on this. I'm one of the few that are actually Brewers fans here in the Raleigh area. I used to drive 25 minutes to Zebulon, now 58 to Wilson. I will say most of the attendance with be from Wilson or Johnston County, NC. I am probably of the few that drive from Raleigh.
