That was kind of Chryst-like.

Fickelled

and they took a timeout right before that to avoid a five yard penalty. be nice to have that timeout right now. sheesh

If you think you're going to punt then take the damn delay of game penalty and don't waste the time out.

That's just piss poor coaching

Good point. Why burn a timeout if you’re just going to punt it anyway and would prefer the extra space?

This TO usage is definitely an admirable tip of the cap to Lambeau Home Field TO usage tendencies. Love that stealthy homage!

It's a Wisconsin thing..... Like polkas and kielbasa

I really really dislike the empty sets inside the 50. You had the TO. Get a single back look and run a RPO or just run it at least once w some inline TE's. You had a TO. Do not like it.

No chance that works even if it's completed.  That's a 2 on 4 to get 10 yards.  What are we even doing after we got that 1st down?

Well until that.

Yeah that was some pretty poor adjustments when you knew they were going to get in your grill.

So when we really needed space, we took a timeout.

When we didn’t really need that much space, we took the delay.

Okay.

Down 3 at half and not played great. I’ll take it

Will be interesting to see how the second half plays out. If I remember right last year they were flat-out terrible in the second halves.

We’ll see. We saw that story a lot last year.

I am encouraged by what I have seen so far.  The offense is showing more than they did last year.  In the past, on the TD, our quarterback would have either thrown it out of bounds or threw it so hard that it would have been dropped.

There was one play by Joseph where he hit a WR screen before the receiver cleared knowing he would be there.  This would have been an epic failure during the past few years.

This is a program that's really been in the dumps, and they're playing a team with a real chip on their shoulder. All things considered IMO the talk about play calls, etc should be taking a back seat to the fact that they're really playing hard, physical football which has been quite rare. Not clean football, but much cleaner. And they've actually forced a couple of errors by ND. Fickell is certainly on a seat that's quite warm, and he deserves it. But it was an impressive 1st half.

I don't know if they'll get a stop on the opening drive of the 2nd half, but if they do things could get interesting.

I like the way guys in the secondary are flying around. And Joseph seems to fit what they want to do offensively.

Oh, and NBC certainly makes you feel like you're a Brewer fan, watching a Brewers-Yankees game on YES.

Fickell’s Badger teams always come out like a wet fart in the second half in big games after teasing you for 30 minutes that they were going to hang around. Nothing new here.

Without getting some turnovers I dont think they can hold up.

First TD in the game for ND that wasn't an extremely short field. Coming out of the locker room I was afraid of that. The delayed release over the middle, and starting to run the ball a little better. Good adjustment by them.

We'll see if they can keep up the physicality.
