I saw that the Dodgers were charging $75 for an Ohtani souvenir cup.  The cup is pretty cool, but $75?  You would get free refills during the game.

After some backlash, they changed the offer to be  $68.99 and includes free refills for the entire season.  Still... that is a chunk of change.

Could you imagine if the Brewers have a $100 souvenir cup and you get free beer?

Considering they charge $10 for a souvenir cup of soda at Amfam, not horrible if you go often and you or you kids enjoy soda at the game.

I worked concessions at Camp Randall this season and they sold a Stanley with one fill of soda for I believe $60 and we sold through our quantity of 5 both games I was there.

Reminds me of the old Hardees moose cup back in the 80s/90s. I can't exactly remember how much they were, maybe $5 for the cup (which would be a lot for soda back then) but you could bring it back anytime and get unlimited free refills of soda.

People upset over this are really failing to use critical thinking and basic math.

6 times to break even….6 times. For a season ticket holder who uses it 82 or so times in a season, saves them $900.

I bet many break even on this in 2 games. Similar used to be a season seat seat holder reward option for the Brewers and was very popular.

What they should do is charge $70 for it, but defer almost all of the cost until Ohtani's deferred salary kicks in sometime in 2034....$2 upfront then the remaining $68 can be paid out in slightly over $6 increments in years 2034-2043.

As others have said, if you go to a good number of games that cup pays for itself many times over and it's not an awful deal considering how much concessions costs.  I did read that for a family of 4 to go to Dodger stadium for 1 game with its cheapest tix, parking, 4 hot dogs, 2 pops and 2 beers would cost close to $425.

Screw the Dodgers, btw

It’s a combination inflationary costs at the ballpark and it being California where things are expensive to begin with.

In 2008, I was outraged at Yankee Stadium having to pay $10 for a beer. Flash forward to opening night in San Francisco on Wednesday where a crab sandwich at Oracle Park cost $27, and a 20 oz “premium” beer was $20.

$70 is a down right steal if you haul it back to the park for additional games.

Yeah I get the backlash when the original report was it was $70 for free refills to *one* game, but honestly, $70 and free refills for a season is an absolute steal if you go to even 4 games and refill it twice a game. There are plenty of fans who are going to 10+ and probably refilling it 3-4 times a game. I think I spent $40 for two (alcoholic) drinks on Opening Day. Plus, you get a cool cup. Feel like the Dodgers fumbled the PR here or the casual base really overreacted because this should have been praised as a great deal (by conventional ballpark standards).
