I'll take Ortiz's defense and the tiny chance of him randomly running into one over Hamilton getting himself down in the count all the time by trying and failing horribly to bunt.

Drives me crazy

Amazing tag by Turang

Once again tonight, was it a BAEZ level tag?

The choices are awful but it's hard to see where the upside is with Hamilton over Ortiz, as bad as Ortiz is.

I’m ready for Jett. We know what Hamilton is. And the truth about him is, if he isn’t laying down a great bunt, he is useless.

Is he producing at AAA yet?  Would be nice if he could force his way into this line-up, but that just hasn't happened.

Who honestly had this take? It seemed like the common sentiment on Mitchell was that he has a massive cold zone at the top of the zone that is easily exploitable. When he's not hitting (or sometimes even offering) pitches in his hot zone, he's going to struggle. That's what we're seeing.

Nobody. He said Mitchell needs to pick it up and I said Mitchell has a 115 wRC+ and he got upset about it and went off like everyone was saying Mitchell is perfect and has no flaws.

His last 10 games he's .286/.390/.457

Yes, he’s been much better offensively as of late. OBP over .400 in his last 11 games. His overall stats still don’t look all that impressive, but it’s skewed by his terrible start. Same with Pratt, who incidentally is having a really nice game tonight.

Just difficult to believe it'll be Hamilton and Ortiz splitting time at SS in 3 weeks.

Not upset at all. The fact he didn't have a hit since you said that till tonight just makes my point. To sit here and say he's doing fine no improvement needed was then and is now insane. You do you though.

Hopefully we have better results against their pen because we had no answers for Schlittler tonight.

Yankees played pretty good defense on a handful of plays too, not that they were forced to all that often.

Patrick looking good (knocks on wood)

I'm a big Patrick fan but I have to admit he's so much better out of the pen than as a starter.  Might just have to keep him in the pen.

Don't know how anyone watched him as a reliever in the playoffs last year and thought he should be anything but that.  His stuff is way better in short stints and he doesn't really have a starter's arsenal.  Let him work a couple innings every few days and he's a relief ace.  That's more valuable than a #5 starter.
