Ashby’s contract includes incentives based on innings pitched and receiving Cy Young votes.

We can only assume Attanasio has given instructions to limit Ashby’s effectiveness, in the near term.

The one when Sproat left at 4 and 2/3rds was set up perfectly.   I assume he was ticked off when Drohan got it instead and that's why pitched so poorly the next time out.

He won on Friday, so only 6 days ago.  Still, we're now down to only a 28 win pace and going to need to vulture at least one over the weekend.

I blame the Cubs for not putting up a fight. What's Ashby supposed to do? Can't vulture a game when the outcome isn't in doubt. The one game he got into he tried his best to get the game tied so he could win it.
