Just my opinion but I think you have to give him the chance to get through 5.  I don't think they need a slow hook for him.  Still young.  Has to learn to pitch through stuff, even against lineups who will punish you if you miss your spots.

Have him learn it against someone other than the Dodgers. This can turn into a brand new ball game in a hurry.
