Murphy’s brain driving home tonight: “oh my gosh. It’s OPPOSITE handed batters you want going against pitchers. Not SAME handed. What a brain fart I had today.”

Romano is a weirdo looking dude

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Leave Joey at 3rd, let Pratt play every day (unless we are facing an ace pitcher), for the love of God, give Lara consistent ABs, don’t let Gary challenge, and Vaughn only hits lefties…

I don’t have a solution for Jackson and Bauers sucking in July

Ortiz probably should've challenged the 1st strike call to him.  You have 2 challenges left in the 9th, you might as well challenge anything close.  The Brewers hitters seem to lack situational awareness with the challenges.

Yeah would have gone up 2-0 and that completely changes that AB

Does anyone truly care about this “legends” game? I honestly wouldn’t waste my time watching if I was handsomely paid to do so. I have zero interest.

I'll watch out of curiosity, not sure why they say 3 innings or 1 hour.  If you're going to have an alumni game why put an hour time limit on it?  They have a ton of pitcher there and 3 innings at most means what, like 1 out per pitcher?

Nope, I cared about the game before this one and they decided not to show up for it.

He knew Sanchrz was on deck and wanted to save them for him since Sanchez is so good at them.

The thing about Sugano, he's one of those guys who doesn't walk many but when I've seen him, he seems to use that well by setting an aggressive mindset to the opposing hitters and taking advantage---not by getting chases so much, but by throwing the pitch you don't expect. And he has like 6 different ones. Couple of solos aren't gonna beat him. Some other hard-hit balls--although not as many as Brian Anderson seemed to think--but we usually mix in walks when we have big innings & that wasn't happening.

IMO using Vaughn in the 6th wasn't a "What a moron!!!!!" moment, but I would've stayed with Lara.

Drohan had a bad day. Some good young hitters on the Rockies & they put up good ABs especially early, but he was staring right at Castro & allowed much too good a jump, the SB cost him a run. Then he stays out to start the 7th L vs L and walks Moniak. Another run.

Not who you play, but how. At least the top part of the order swung it pretty well, maybe a portend.

This looks like it's a cross between beer league softball and banana ball.

I’m watching. Kind of fun seeing some of these players. That’s really all we had to cheer for was individual. The teams were usually pretty bad.

I love the alumni game. I've invested so much of my time into these teams over the years and like the nostalgia of seeing the old boys again.

If they want to do these alumni games and home run derbies, they really need to put in temporary fences to bring the fences in by at least 100 feet.  Constant 200 foot fly outs and 1 or 2 home runs per round doesn't do anything for the fans.

After the way these old guys embarrassed themselves last year, not at all. It was a good idea that didn't work, and this old timers game will be no different.
