Definitely not. Contreras never accepted a day off the first 5 years of his career. Now really wearing down with injuries.

Teams that have built on pitching and defense have to secure wins when putting up 6 runs. One of those frustrating losses when the offense actually showed up but also left plenty of potential runs on base.

I think that one was on Murphy. If you polled the crowd, everyone would have pulled Drohan earlier…just getting smoked around with hard contact.

Loss is solely on the manager. Everyone in the milky way could see Drohan had no command already blowing a 4 run lead. Keeping him out there after after the first guy reached was even more inexcusable.

Wilson is here for two reasons - mop up or when the starter doesn’t have it. It was still a tie game and the starter clearly didn’t have it.

I don't understand trading for Senzatela a guy who has never been used in a single inning reliever role and trying to turn him into a single inning reliever. Today was his first time in his career pitching 3 out of 4 days and he pitched poorly. Why not just keep him in his multi-inning role that he was excelling in while in Colorado?

I assume he was going to pitch 2 innings and gave up 2 runs instead…still think he is a valuable pick up.

Because we traded for another guy who won’t even be ready until late August.    We don’t have people to go to

Exactly!

When we got him, I thought it was with the purpose of multiple inning relief duties.

Just another odd situation with a RP at the deadline.  Add that to the JoJo being hurt, and not being able to pitch until the end of the month, and it just doesn't make a lot of sense.
