Black has had chance after chance to prove himself at the major league level and has failed every time.

He's never REALLY had a chance at regular at bats though.  Not for an extended period of time.

When's the last game Miz didn't give up a home run?

He’s going to always give them up.  Guys are selling out for the fastball and if they square it up, there’s a good chance it’s going to leave the yard

His velocity is also down quite a bit this inning

That HR FB was 99 which is why it’s important to throw secondary pitches for strikes

Tyler Blacks Minor League #'s were great until this year. He did not produce up here in the MLB.

How many MLB at bats has he really had?  He's never had regular at bats in MLB, so we simply don't really know what he could do with a couple 2-3 weeks of playing every day, probably at DH.  I'd be all for a 2-3 week stay, regular at bats, while Yelich has some kind of injury starting tomorrow...

Even with triple digit gas you got to be careful with these guys.

They are sitting Dead red until they have a reason not to.

Which is why you do have to mix it up once in awhile and can’t just fire a 4 seamer every pitch and let them sit on it.

I know it’s obviously hard to hit 102 no matter what but they’ll get lucky once in awhile when they can just sit on it.

His numbers in AAA last year and this year:

2025 wRC+ 105

2026 wRC+ 102

in MLB:

2025 wRC+ 181

2026 wRC+ 131

Again very small samples but those aren't number Greg Jones type numbers that would get you booted immediately.

Can we back to actually winning game Miz pitches

That's crazy how the last 8 or 10 starts have a struggle when he's on the mound.

And we refuse to score more than two runs while he's in the game no matter how bad the opposing starter is.

Last year Black suffered a fractured right hamate bone during spring training that required surgery and sidelined him for 8 weeks.

The tricky part about 3B obv is the throwing but you think he would be able to field a ground ball if he played 1B

Not like it’s an outfielder playing 3B
