Are Fischer (3b) and Adamczewski (2b/of) hurt?  We are signing and trading for guys with <600 OPS and no defense.  Surely someone healthy on the farm can hit OR field (preferably both).

Bringing up Fischer for 10 days doesn’t seem wise to me. He hasn’t even hit AAA yet and Burke is struggling in AAA since being called up to it. They need another year

They said Pratt will be back in like 10 days and Turang will be back on Tuesday

They are not hurt just not on the 40-man.  With next year in doubt on when it will start placing either on the 40-man wouldn't be a wise decision.  They wouldn't be able to play in the minors if they are on the 40-man as they are part of the MLB CBA then.  If they are not on the 40-man then they are part of the MiLB CBA which would allow them to play in the minors.

Other than they are both probably not ready yet to face MLB pitching the probable lockout is why they are not on the 40-man and being promoted.  Burke probably has a better case for being on the team but the same lockout problem applies to him.

So much for the Cubs will either be in first place in the NL Central or will be within a game or two of the Brewers after this Dodgers series.

Apparently you still have to play the games.

If Chourio can develop plate discipline he will be a top ten hitter in the game. His bat is so quick. No wasted motion. He’s only 22, the league is filled with players who figured out their zone in their mid 20s.

Wasn’t Bauers on a minor league contract before season.

He was a 2025 NRI to spring training.

Jackson getting back to intentionally going the other way is a nice adjustment.  Not taking weeks to do it is very much a welcome sign of growth.

We really ought to look long and hard at signing Bauers if we can do it for a halfway reasonable number.

We have one more year of Vaughn and power hitting corner players in the upper minors. I see your point, though.

Yeah I'm considering his place in the locker room as well, positionally it's obviously not perfect for us but maybe we could do something for a couple years as a bridge.

Do you give Henderson the 8th to start? Bullpen is kind of beat up and Ashby threw a lot of pitches yesterday
