Ethan Murray would be a much better option for this team than Ornelas. Murray is a decent fielder & capable hitter. He is not a prospect - similar to Nate Orf … a dependable replacement player for a short-term injury.

I think Lara was holding close to the bag because that should have been caught.  He got a late start because of that.  And the ball didn't get that far from Tucker.
