Over the weekend, Abner Uribe went viral for wearing the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers' brat uniforms. Now, the Milwaukee Brewers' right-handed reliever is done wearing silly (complimentary) alternate uniforms for minor-league teams.

The Brewers on Monday activated Uribe off the 15-day injured list and put right-handed reliever Bryse Wilson on the 15-day IL. Wilson has a low-back strain.

Uribe, the Brewers' primary setup man for closer Trevor Megill, went on the IL Aug. 14 with a strained right forearm flexor. He spent just over the minimum on the IL and made two rehab appearances before joining the Brewers in time for the four-game series at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs, who trail the Crew by eight games in the NL Central. The two teams play each other seven times over the next 10 days.

Wilson was injured during Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Texas Rangers. He grabbed at his lower back in the ninth inning and was looked at by the training staff, remaining in the game. Wilson went 2⅔ innings in another bullpen-saving outing.

The Brewers are still waiting for left-hander JoJo Romero, who was acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals at the trade deadline while on the IL following an appendectomy. He also has made two rehab appearances and could be activated when rosters expand by two on Tuesday.

Wilson “injured”

I definitely think he is. Trainers came out last night when he was on the mound and he clearly looked somewhat labored. Roster wise it makes much more sense to have just optioned Anderson again for Uribe than put Wilson on the IL.

Yea perfect timing for Wilson to have a minor issue.  He and Anderson would be the ones in jeopardy with Uribe/Romero back.   Now you can keep Wilson in the system and maybe bring him back to eat some innings the last few weeks when things are hopefully wrapped up.  Plus, he's done a good job for MKE so you feel a bit bad having to cut him.  This way he can keep collecting an MLB check he deserves, gets to hang around a WS contender the rest of the season and possibly even get to sit the bench in the playoffs and enjoy the experience with the team he's had the most success with (not sure how that works for sure if he's not on the playoff roster).

Got it. I thought the timing was convenient but I didn’t see the game last night so that could very well be the case. In any event it makes it an easy decision to make right now even if it were more of a day to day thing.
