Your defense can't be on the field the entire game. I don't think we're the '85 Bears or anything but I think they'd be decent enough to keep us near the top of the league if the offense had been the "near league best" that some of our own were forecasting. We have statistically the worst offense in the league. It's hard for any defense to look good when that's the case...as we give up another huge play, lol.

This game may look even worse at the end of the year when Atlanta ends up with like 4 wins

Got my post card last week. Hoping that number starts shrinking faster than 1k a year if we head to the toilet for a while.

I take the "mediocre" away from the Penix 80.1 QB rating.  Last year there were only 2 qualifying QBs in the NFL that had a rating lower than that...JJ McCarthy and Joe Flacco.  That 80.1 QB rating is actually pretty bad,,,and the Packers are still getting stomped.

Obviously there's a talent shortage on defense but the scheme has been no great shakes either.

Well, the Jets do have that reputation of being a great team with a formidable offense.

I think most people thought the offense would carry the team. 

They were a fringe top 10 defense last year with Parsons. I said it a lot - I didn't quite understand where the optimism was coming from given how terrible they were without him. But I don't think anyone thought their defense was amazing, just that it would hover around average with the new additions and scheme, while they scored a bunch of points and that would be enough. They probably would have been right, especially if and when Parsons got back. 

But people clearly underestimated the issues on the OL. There was a lot of convincing oneself the OL would be ok this summer. I had a hard time buying it.

Were there any OL in that group of SB champion players? How quickly can they suit up?

Packers have about as many drops as they do missed tackles.
