Umps have the same issue batters have with the sun but with much older eyes and less training. Late afternoon starts just shouldn't happen.

What is this ump doing back there. This is the best guys?

Best for MLB's purposes, wanna make sure small market Milwaukee doesnt ruin their narrative in CBA talks

Why? It was clearly in the zone. He knew he wasn’t losing that one.

I don't worry too much about 1-0 count. 2 strike count sure.

If a challenge was right, it’s smart. On some of these you have to assume he knows. Emotional challenges are bad. The two in that inning were not

It’s a bad look for the MLBUA though, when catchers are better umpires than umpires.

For the first three quarters of the season, the umps were pretty good with balls and strike calls. These last two months they have been drastically worse.

You think you can hurt me? I watch Wisconsin sports. You can't hurt me.

How do you call this one a strike earlier in the game but miss that pitch to Machado?

We give contreras alot of flak with missed challenge calls....but it sure feels like he's got way too much influence on counts constantly with this BS umpiring.

If he wasnt on constant zone monitoring duty the team ERA might be 1.5 runs higher the with how bad the zone is against brewer pitching right now

But if you know 100% that you’re right … you’d rather be up 0-1.

Or dont use old umps for these games, players can see ball/strike so far, so that isnt a great excuse in my book

I'm waiting for Murphy to bring his kids into the dugout for these in game interviews.

It’s an outdoor sport, weather factors happen.  Should they not play in the wind, or not play outside in Chicago until May?
