I keep seeing comments about how we'll "miss the playoffs next year" because "teams like this rarely last."

I get winning the World Series is difficult but I would probably wager the Brewers make the playoffs at least 3 times in the next 5 years. You can tell these people pay no attention to anything other than free agency.

They certainly aren't paying any attention to the age on their own roster. I mistakenly thought LA had one more in them in '26 and then, at the very least, would have a little re-tooling to do.

Unless the ownership gets turned over someday to some clueless entity it's hard to imagine them totally going away. That's a really good farm system, and buying what you need to fill things out is a nice luxury to have. But yeah, some of the comments from their fan base are laughable. The organizational philosophy, the day-to-day mindset, the attention to detail, it's really hard to find anything to compare the Brewers to. Yet the phrase "teams like this" is rolled out?

I’m going to violate a personal rule about looking too far ahead, but I wonder what they are planning for a parade and celebration. Obviously to pull something like that off they have to have a plan way in advance. It’s kind of the opposite of a disaster recovery plan.

I went to the Bucks parade in 2021 and I’m expecting something like that. My knees and hips are too old to stand in one place, but assuming there is a parade through downtown I will go down there and walk around to soak in the atmosphere. I would expect this to be much bigger because the Brewers fan base is so much bigger.

If they schedule it over the weekend, I think they'd be pushing close to a million people downtown. Bucks were reportedly half a million, and that was still during the pandemic with a much more localized fanbase. Brewers will draw not just the city of Milwaukee and the burbs, but the entire state and even out of state. I'm not especially well versed on the history of crowd sizes, but I would venture to guess it would be the largest single gathering in the history of the state given the two recent Packer parades have been in Green Bay in the middle of winter.

Assuming they clinch it tonight or tomorrow, I personally vote for a Saturday parade down WI Avenue capped by a public ceremony at Summerfest as that holds more people than Am Fam.

That was a huge mistake by them.  All the carnage occurred after that.  🙂

I’m not sure if it was a huge mistake. With the angle he had to take to get to the ball caminero would have  had to make a pretty significant turn to make a throw back to first.

Even with Contreras carrying a piano on his back, he might’ve been able to beat the throw or the throw may have ended up off target.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

It's a mixture of sand and ground coconut husk. It's part of how their sports turf is constructed. It's supposed to provide truer bounces of the ball similar to natural grass turf.

Thanks, SB.  🙂
