If they were to close it out with a close win in game 4 w/Ashby getting 7 or 8 outs, I could see him at least being in the conversation. Otherwise like @Brewcrew82said, it's probably between Chourio & Contreras.

If we’re voting now I think Contreras is the clear favorite. The catcher’s role is huge when the pitchers are dominating.

I think Contreras has it locked. He's been a focal point on the broadcast an awful lot. The ABS challenges are constant, throwing guys out, being the catcher for a dominant pitching staff. I can't see it being anybody else.

And gloriously, I keep trying to envision ways this team is worse next season (assuming that gets figured out) and it's tough to do.

I keep thinking back to last year, how the Brewers looked against the Dodgers, completely outmatched and with all the fight run out of them. I'm seeing that in the Rays. The Brewers are just smothering them right now. It sure is nice to be on this side of it.

It's hard enough to win one, so let's hope that they can do that.

Worry about next year next year.

Be in the moment, just like the lads are doing 😃

Don’t be like Cubs fans who crowed about the dynasty they were going to have.

I just want to savor this while it lasts.

My daughters aren’t interested in going on a weeknight (work and children tend to get in the way of things) so I bought myself a single ticket in the club level for the watch party tonight so I can soak in the atmosphere.

We still have those Game 6 tickets if we need them.

So many huge individual moments, pretty sure half or more of the roster has had a big clutch moment this postseason, so MVP is very tough. For the whole postseason though I really think it has to be Wild Bill, solid or better batting every series and behind the plate throwing and with challenges. It's probably not the case, but how much better would our pitchers have been if Bill was nailing challenges like this all year. It's like he got a cyborg implant...

Haven't read the whole thread but that was easily the most electric sporting event I've been too.  Crowd was probably 50/50 at the start and by the end all Brewers. I suspect it will be even better tonight.  The pops for the brewers were massive.

Yah, really isn’t a path for anyone else at this point. They only need one more win, so unless they blow the next three games for someone to be G7 hero, no one is overtaking Contreras. Maybe Chourio if he balled out for 3+ hits with a HR+…and Contreras lays an egg the rest of the way.

I see some of Dekker's stuff pop up on my timeline and I'm not going to lie, I agree with a lot of his Brewers' takes. If nothing else, he is a real fan.

Just ask John Axford!

How far after the series is over would a parade happen?  Asking for a friend

Not a hint? Obviously! the Crew put the game away. When the Crew win the series it will be unreal to look back at the most enlightening posts about Chourio as TRT, Wild Bill should not be resigned, Murph is an awful manager, Sal should be left off the playoff roster, the Crew is the 4-5 best team in the NL (despite the best record), wild card or bust, Cubs taking over the division by August. No worries, don’t be a “gatekeeper “

We are on the cusp of our first World Series and your top priority is playing the “I told you so” game, digging for the coldest takes you can find, throwing things in peoples’ faces, and tainting a Game 3 thread that had gone gloriously, game and IGT, by calling people out for takes that were not even part of the conversation or game at hand at all.

Good heavens, just enjoy celebrating the game and team at this point with many, many others who also love the Brewers and are ecstatic to be on the cusp of what we’ve wanted to see for our entire lives.

Or, don’t. I can’t tell you what to do, so if you really feel the time and research needed to drag everyone else who didn’t share your every perspective along the way vindicates you, knock yourself out.

If you repost stuff like that we will hide it immediately so maybe don't bother. Focus on celebrating the victory not on I told you so.

What's that poofy stuff that comes up when the ball hit the turf in that stadium?  Chalk?  Sawdust?

Just wondering...

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

It's a mixture of sand and ground coconut husk. It's part of how their sports turf is constructed. It's supposed to provide truer bounces of the ball similar to natural grass turf.

In my day, we played on asphalt, and we liked it!

It's an old people joke so I love it.  It also reminds me of my elementary school.  We had an asphalt area with a couple basketball hoops and a couple of four square spots but we all loved the area where they painted yellow bases so we would have a baseball/kickball "field" despite having two actual baseball fields at our school as well.  We thought having bases was the coolest and there wouldn't be any arguments of "you're out, that's not actually the base,"
