Whoooooooo-hooooooooooooo!

You know how after a kid gets lost and then found, the parents simultaneously want to hug and kiss him *and* slap him 'longside the head?

That's how I feel about the Brewers right now. But since I got to change my tagline, I'll forgive them. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

He steals home... he hits a triple... he hits a homer... he walks to load the bases... he makes a gold glove play to end the game. Can we not find a starting position for this guy? Who has earned it more?

4-3 for a WINNING season. Is that too much to ask??

As a following post made clear, it IS too much to ask, since the Crew only has 6 games remaining http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

The Brewers are 0-5 in the 2nd half when they have a chance to go above .500.

The Brewers are 1-4 in games when I am in attendance this year.

The Brewers are at .500, and I will be in attendance tomorrow.

Am I crazy for still being optimistic?

Dare I say it's do-able versus CIN & PIT? Say your prayers tonight and help that old lady across the street tomorrow, boys. We need all the Karma we can get.

Sure, the team that we trade him to for some pitching.

That's cold after the way he's been playing... and maybe best left for another thread.

Presenting, my first avatar ...

That's great, ja002h.

I heard "I'm a Believer" played in the ballpark after the game. So, the brewerfan "Drive to 81 (or 82, depending on your degree of optimism)" soundtrack must include:

Dream On

I'm a Believer

Eye of the Tiger

Don't Stop Believing

What am I missing?

I am certainly a fan of Hall's. But with 3/4 of the infield already set, and Braun shooting his way up the minors, maybe we should cash in on probably his peak value....

Braun shot his way all the way up to low-A West Virginia this year (his promotion to Brevard County doesn't count since he didn't play). As much as I like Braun, the team should not make any short-term decisions based on him, as he still is a few years away.

I wouldn't be inclined to move Hall, but as always, if the right deal comes along...

What an amazing, stressful game. I had forgotten what it's like to have each and every game mean something. Let's hope Helling gives us at least 6 strong innings tomorrow night, and in a 4-game series, it would be especially sweet to knock Claussen out of the game early to really deplete the Reds' bullpen.

Any of you guys remember 82? I was 3 so not really remembering that far back.

The best year I can remember was Garner the year Listach won ROY. That didn't turn into anything promising. Hope we aren't looking back on this year like that one in a decade.

I sure do remember '82.......I turned 15 that July. The Brewers got red hot in June, carried over through July, picked up Don Sutton at the end of August and looked like they'd breeze. Then Rollie Fingers got hurt and Baltimore got hot, went right down to the last day of the season.

Incidentally, Mr Ned Yost had a huge home run in Boston late in that season.

I just got home from the game. Let's just say that with all the walks the bullpen gave up tonight, the Brewers are so lucky that the offense bailed them out and got them a win. Otherwise, I would have probably spent all night tonight on the "Offical Venting Thread"

Thank God we hung on to this game.

Oh yeah, Bill Hall badly wants to end this 12 year streak. God bless him.
