8/18/2004 Cubs (Clement) at Brewers (Sheets)

Well, I started the game thread yesterday and it worked, so here's going for 2.....

Matt Clement (8-11, 3.1http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif goes for the Scrubs tonight as the Scrubs try to get back on track after last night's loss. Ben Sheets (9-9, 2.74) goes after elusive win #10 for the Crew as the Brewers look to creep back towards .500.

The story of this game will be which pitcher gets some support from his teammates as both Clement and Sheets have been victimized numerous times by poor offensive showings. The Cubs have averaged 3.7 runs of support/game for Clement and the Brewers only give Ben 3.18 runs.

Here's to the Crew going for 2 and knocking the Scrubs further back in the Wild Card standings. Go Ben! Go Crew!

Lineups later as they become available....

Does anyone else think that Ben Grieve won't start another game in RF? Is he still bothered by the calf injury? Curious to know if he's still hurt or they're jus sitting him.

If that's the only run Sheets gives up, I guess it'll be hard to complain, but yes, his HR rate is getting quite troubling.

6 pitches and 2 K's!

Overbay has to learn how to hit the off speed low breaking ball. Once he does that he will be back to hitting line drives. Imo that is how they are getting him way too often!

You KNOW that a runner on third with one out is NOT going to score.

We know it all too well. I'll go first . . . .

This team is just plain aweful to watch right now. We get a great outing by Santos last night, and now we are back to watching a comedy of errors and a lack of clutch hitting, or for that matter hitting all together.
