7/24/04: Brewers (Hendrickson) @ Astros (Redding)

If I were Doug I would take Wes out for a quiet drink and explain we dont need a snowman at third base. He either gets fit and flexible or he can spend 2005 counting his millions dollar by dollar whereever he chooses to sit out the year.

Let's bring up Corey Hart at third. At least we have a defensive butcher with a bat then. Wes has a great arm, but his glove is suspect.

Very nice work getting out of it by Hendrickson.

The guy has no range, is making errors by the bucketload, and has an extra base hit about once every 20 at bats.

Why?

Oh, and great job by Mr. Hendrickson. I thought he was "not ready" mentally? At least that's what some have tried to say.

Where the heck is Grieve playing Adam Everett?

Deep enough there Grieve?

That homer by Lane was sick. Leaning forward, on his front foot. It's hard to blame Hendrickson for that one, because that was a good pitch.

Then the hit and run right at the hole that Hall had just vacated. Little bit of bad luck for li'l Ben this inning.

Everett hit a little jam job grounder to right field for a single and it appeared that Grieve was playing AWFULLY deep and Everett legged it out into a double.

They position Grieve deep to compensate for his (lack of) speed going back on balls, and it cost us a run right there.

good job Grieve.

If I've said it before, I'll say it again

Well, I don't think Hall would have made it back to that ball Peavey, unless you're talking about him being able to cover 2nd for a throw, but even then, it looked like Everett was going to be safe.

Yeah, you're probably right.... not excusing Grieve at all, but it would have been close at 2nd.

Don't tell me we're going to go right back to the coma inducing offense we've come to know and hate.

One more Gary Bennet interview and I'm going to puke my guts out. Let alone listen to Gary Bennet talk about hitting. Dude, just shut up.

Did Rick just say that it was a suprised that the Brewer Offense was shut down tonight?

I mean really, Redding is a great pitcher with an ERA of 6.03 and Oliver is awesome with a similar ERA.

What a 1-2 punch for the Astros.

By the by the Pirates are winning and last place is within striking distance for the Crew

Lyle is ok, I guess.

5-2 is a "very different ballgame"? according to Sutton and Schroeder. Normally, yeah, I'd agree, but crimony, this is a team that's averaging 2 runs a game for the last few weeks.

Well, I have just been scanning the free agents for 2005, 3rd baseman and catchers... and then I thought the good ones will cost some money.... darn

So c'mon Wes become good, please.

Did Wes ever meet a pitch he didn't like?

Or didn't try to pull?

I shudder to think that when Spivey gets back, Ginter will go the bench and Helms will continue to suck, er, I mean, play every day.
