After falling behind the Sox 2-0 early, the Cubs have scored three with the aide of a Ross Gload error and a Sosa RBI single. Bottom of the fourth at Wrigley with a match-up of Loaiza v. Zambrano (whose ERA ballooned to 2.46 after giving up the two early runs).

Good timing by Yost. Not only does Jenks need a physical and mental rest but this gives Ned the chance to let his best hitter (not meant to start a debate) get a shot in a late inning important situation.

Jenks will have an impact on game one in the 7th, 8th or 9th!!

Lets get game 1!

Perez had good control in the first inning.

It's like I was saying this kid was good last year.

Be afraid.

Come on Crew! Talk a walk or two.

I know they're not related, but this Oliver Perez is dancing around out there like Pascual Perez used to. I don't like dancing...let's knock this guy's socks off.

"Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez left Friday´s game in the bottom of the sixth inning after sliding awkwardly into third base. He has an apparent leg injury and was replaced by Jose Macias."

Even better for the crew. Leg injuries usually take awhile.

The in-game box score I looked at shows that both runs scored by the White Sox were unearned because of a 2 out error by Derek Lee.

Didn't Wood's current DL stint begin with the same injury?

His fastball dances plenty too. He struck out 13 Reds last time out.

9 Brewers up, no hits, no walks, 5 K's

I got a bad feeling about this.

Of all the damn days for Davis to have his worst outing of the year, he sure picked a bad one.

I don't think this will be a 'quality start' for Davis.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Look at the positive, we get to see 3 or 4 innings of Matty Kinney!!! Sweet! Time to chalk up the loss and get ready for game 2, gotta get the split.
Posted

boy we might as well throw in the towel...its not like there are 6 innings left

show a little faith everyone http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ...this team has made bigger comebacks this year

Posted

Overbay with a double...who would've thunk it

just give it a little tap--tap--taparoo Brewers...that lead will get smaller and smaller as the game goes on

Posted
despite his dominance in past starts, and the fact we have a double header, i think obie could maybe even be hitting his spots better than davis is right now

Is it just me or does Oliver Perez not seem the same anymore?? He seems like he is nibbling more with off-speed stuff now

I guess the Pirates pitching coach saw it too. He just went out there and now Perez is throwing fastballs again.

I'm calling it right now... we're going to be swept this weekend.

And I'm an optimist that usually doesn't make predictions at all.... I just have a terrible, terrible feeling about this one, folks.
