Magic Number

The cubs have 27 games left to play...and we are 1.5 games back. So, our magic number for clinching the division is 29 (any combination of our wins and Cub/1st place team losses). I thought we should start a thread similar to the .500 thread, but this time aim a bit higher. So, here goes!

Nope, it's 20. If the Cubs won out, they would have 92 wins. We need 93 to guarantee anything, so it is 20.

You can keep track by looking at the MLB standings and including the "elimination number" column. The elimination number of the second place team is the magic number for the first place team.

The easiest way to calculate the magic number is to start with 163 and subtract Brewers Wins and subtract Cubs Losses (or Cards if they ever pass the Cubs)

Cyan, funny how you posted the Space 26 pic. Thats a bar in Utica, NY I think and that bar was the worst bar I ever been in. Me and some friends were there staying in Utica after seeing the Paul Molitor Hall of Fame induction and that was our first bar there. It was way out of our "class league" because they sold nothing but imports.
