Erstad is fine as a defensive replacement...but so is Dave Krynzel. They just keep giving him AB's even though he's sucked for half-a-decade.

Let's get this straight, once and for all. Counsell is scrappy, Erstad is gritty. From my extensive study of the matter, I think that pitchers can't be scrappy or gritty...but they can be gutty or crafty.

 

Battling is not in my lexicon, however...I think Yost made that one up himself.

 

Cops can be any of the above...but they prefer not to be called gutty so watch yourself.
