Official Super Bowl Commercials Thread

BTW, about the Amp commercial, I'm probably wrong, but I thought the big guy in it bore a striking resemblance to "Donkey Lips" from the old Nickolodeon show "Salute Your Shorts."

Actually, just checked a while ago, and according to wikipedia, it was the same guy.

I can't believe there has been no love for the Wade/Barkley "Five" commercial. That was easily one of my favorites.

That was one that I did see. It was nice to see T-Mobile (right?) delivering the pay-off after the Charles/D-Wade "who's in your 5" saga the past year or so. It shows good planning and foresight by the marketing department.

My friends that I was watching with thought it was mind-numbingly stupid, but I particularly liked the Bridgestone commercial with the screaming animals; especially the katydid.

I'll join others in saying that I thought the salesgenie commercials were very inappropriate as well. I even made mention to my friends at the time. You'd think whoever produced the commercial would've at some point stopped and thought about what they were doing.

No kidding, lukevan. I have to imagine they'll set the record for worst investment in Super Bowl advertising.

Good point, Ry & bc00. It was definitely funny, & very well-planned - I'd just forgotten about it.

Bud Light, suck one.

Yeah, I'm a Will Ferrel fan.

Will Ferrell had the best commerical until the Victoria's Secret one. I also liked the Pepsi Max commercial and the Bridgestone tire one. The Shaq one was fine and even the Justin Timberlake one was good. That all being said, this was one of the worst years for commericals that I can remember.

No FedEx pigeon mentions? That was great.

JT was good too, and the coke and bud ones were ok.

I'm still shocked that someone at SalesGenie thought those ads were a good idea. Unbelievable.

but, I guess salesgenie did it's job--we're all talking about it.

It created buzz and publicity for the sight. For them, it probably didn't matter if it was positive or negative. They took a gamble that it would get their site noticed and it worked--well, half-way, at least; now people actually have to go to their site and use it.

I'm not sold on the whole 'no publicity is bad publicity' thing. I just can fathom how people talking about how racist and tasteless your company is will ultimately be beneficial in the long run. Notoriety may work well for some things, but probably not as much in the world of business.

Agreed with b19. Yea, I'm remembering them, but in the 'Who was that company with the incredibly racist ad(s)... you know, that one I'll make sure to never give my business... oh yea - Salesgenie!' way.

How about the most irritating commercial of them all by Gatorade where the dog is drinking out of the bowl for 26 seconds. If I meet the person who created that commercial I will punch them in the back of the head!

I'll also add in that the salesgenie ones were terrible, sure everyone is talking about them, but man were they bad.

My favorites were the screaming animals one, was that squirrel scared or what...and the baby buying stock, "I just bought stock...you just watched me buy stock, no big deal."
