  1. Thanks, Casey. And, to clarify, you have to use the temp. password that was given to you in the support email. You can't use your updated/personalized password that you set for the new BF.net forums. Just an fyi for other users.
  2. I saw that too... definitely got a little scared there... but then everything was just back to normal/Yuku
  3. The change came as a bit of a shock... I actually check this subforum somewhat regularly, & didn't hear a peep about this. Very sneaky And I'll actually endorse the phpBB forum format. A baseball sim-league I'm in uses it, and it's pretty user-friendly imo... well, at least compared to Yuku.
  4. Just took a look at his top 100 prospect list and his top 10 for the Brewers...I won't say much because it's "Insider", but it was nice to see Peralta in the top 40 prospects overall, and interesting to see that he viewed Nick Ramirez as one of our top 10 prospects. If you (or anyone) wouldn't feel wrong in doing so, would you post the rankings of any Brewers in that top 100?
  5. Seriously. Han smooth talked him, then flat out wasted him. And THIS is why Han is amazing. To claim he wasn't planning on taking out Greedo... the scene is great thanks to the shot of him slowly moving for his gun, & unbuttoning the holster. Then he gets the drop on Greedo. Boom. I tried to hold off from commenting, don't feed the trolls/Lucases, etc. Oh well. Stop trying to ruin these movies, George! EDIT: I think the crazy thing is that with how motivated by sales Lucas seems to be, he somehow ignores what a moneymaker just re-releasing the remastered original trilogy would be.
  6. "was basically replacement level in 2010" Crazy, you'd think that coming off of a major injury to his shoulder, he would've been firing on all cylinders. What's more relevant is that he rebounded in 2011 back to career norms, showing full recovery from the injury. Not that an injury derailed a player's performance. RoCo & monty have summed things up nicely imo.
  7. I don't know if this helps with spring fever, or just makes it worse, but Adam McCalvy posted the ST broadcast schedule to his blog. I won't paste the full schedule, but here are some notes from McCalvy:
  8. So our prospects that are maturing are very good fits for us as they may not be, as i said, Harper types, but they're very solid #4 OF'ers, potential starters in Gindl/Schafer, and then several promising pitchers who look like they could easily be ready by 2013 when we're set to lose one of the two in Marcum or Greinke(I can't believe we'd allow Greinke to get away after what we gave up). As you say, with the core of star players the Brewers have already developed, these inexpensive role players are exactly the guys they need the farm system to churn out, in the short-term. The only remaining roadblock would be whether or not DM the GM will actually let them serve as MLB role players, & not keep blocking them behind vets.
  9. To the blogger's credit, he leads off by saying he's basically just daydreaming. But then he also says 2012 will be a lost season for the Brewers, so there's that.
  10. He posted a 4.78 ERA in 165 innings with Omaha last season. This signing just has to be almost paying for a role model, but he's also a real organizational soldier at this point.
  11. I'm on the first stealth/sniper mission, ostensibly in mountains somewhere near Russia. The only real beef I have is that if you alert the enemy to your position, they pour at you infinitely. Usually I just give up & restart, but once I actually grabbed a machine gun, & cut down a bunch of guys. That bought me about thirty seconds, and even hiding did nothing to prevent the next wave of guys from slaughtering me. I just wish you could clear an area & regain your stealth.
  12. Well I should've posted a while back that Resistance completely won me over, it's a great game. I'm currently still stuck on the Goliath level (assuming it's near the end of the game)... first time I've had to face a Goliath & hopefully the last for this game. But tons of fun to play, great FPS. It kinda reminds me (in a good way) of playing Doom many moons ago -- kind of a scary game, but Resistance is obviously incredible. I wish I could get unstuck, because I want to finish & move on to Resistance 2. And I picked up Uncharted recently, haven't played it much yet. Looking forward to it, even though I'm terrible at controlling player movement in that GTA-style third-person controls format. That jumped out at me right away, that I'll have to get better at that, but the game looks cool so far (I've played I think just the intro level). Question to other Modern Warfare players: in MW2, the 'level' you unlock (called "Museum") after beating the game -- that level isn't playable in any real way, right? I noticed my solo campaign completion was listed at something like 75%, so I assumed I had to play "Museum", much like there was the bonus plane-hijackers level unlocked after beating MW1. I see that you can shoot any weapons you find, & obviously kill any of the characters in the museum exhibits... but there's nothing I'm missing here, right? I've looked all over the level & can't find any door to open or anything, so I'm assuming my remaining 25% of campaign play left to complete is something else. I went back to MW2 to play the solo mini-games (or whatever they're called). I've convinced myself to try to complete them all on the toughest difficulty... takes me forever & a day. Very tough.
  13. To say that the Reds would be down on Stubbs because of his strikeouts & low batting average is to incorrectly read that situation, imo. They are not useful stats to use as inherent proof, they obviously aren't good indicators though. The Reds actually appear to be high on Stubbs because he's a good athlete, defender, & hits for power at a premium defensive position. It's not his fault Dusty Baker had him lead off last year because he's fast.
  14. If everyone wants to give Mat Gamel the shot without having any competition then why not just start the rebuilding phase right now? The problem is that there isn't any legit competition. Just other bad ideas. Because, honestly, if your idea is Derrek Lee, that does nothing for the Brewers. Nothing. And start the rebuilding phase? Please.
  15. I dunno, if he buys a few pregame spreads here & there for his teammates, I'd bet they'd love having him around. http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif
  16. Don't AAA guys stay in Day's Inns with a roommate and get like 25 bucks a day meal money? Suppan can probably dip a little into his personal accounts if he wanted to. He'd certainly make enough money to offset whatever he had to spend to class up his road accommodations. I agree with jerichoholic, Soup seems to just love the game.
  17. The Cards have the talent to win the division, but they have a loooottt of injury risk. I can't see them being fortunate enough this season with health, either, RockCo. One area where the Brewers may actually have the edge over both STL & CIN is durability.
  18. This is amazing. Perfect fit for Yankee Stadium, except that they're going to have to install a 4th level on the RF upper deck. Principessa is excited. I'd only heard Raul Ibanez-Yankees rumors leading up to this, so I wonder if that's still something they're going to pursue. One concern they reportedly had was Ibanez being older, & Branyan's a tick younger.
  19. That was a thought I had as well, homer. I get where you're going, TC07. I know ultimately it's about finding the WOW guys (heh), the guys other teams don't have, or are just rare in general. But I think an objective best-case scenario for Jungmann would be him winding up a #1. Do I think that's likely? No. But it's at least plausible. Same for Bradley & Peralta. I haven't seen much of Bradley pitching yet at all, but in what little I did see, he looked like his stuff could be electric. Peralta's that big-bodied hard thrower, and he'd need to have those two plus pitches you alluded to earlier. Neither Bradley nor Peralta are likely to be #1s, either, but both have gotten good reviews from prospect watchers, so for me the thought is at least plausible. And for me, the Brewers having multiple young pitchers who profile reasonably well as #2s & #3s is a trend in a very positive direction. I don't hold the org. accountable for not having more top pitching prospects yet, since they basically had to rebuild the upper ranks of their MiLB pitching when Jack Z left. This is an organization that has had pretty miserable success in developing pitching, so I guess I'm more encouraged than disappointed.
  20. Not sure why teams keep giving him a chance either. I don't get why he would wanna play in AAA again at this stage in his career either. I think some teams see value provided by Suppan in the experience, polish, & professionalism he brings. If the Pads needed rotation or pitching staff filler for AAA, & Soup still wants to play, good for both parties. My personal guess is that Suppan has some interest in coaching, and hanging around the game in any capacity until he has to hang up the spikes is meaningful for him... perhaps even helpful towards a goal of coaching, in showing that he's a team player.
  21. And don't confuse strikeouts & batting average as useful ways to evaluate a player.
  22. I'm not sure "best case" was seriously considered here in your response. The idea I was really getting at is that based on results and stuff we have a ton of guys who on average are 3s/bullpen arms and no one with consistent mid 90s velocity and 2 plus secondary pitches and stellar results who's reasonably projectable as a 1. Nowhere has anyone disagreed with this.
  23. I wasn't referring just to the OSU game in talking about Berggren, but yes Sullinger had his way with him. Like you said, OSU just outmans the Badgers.
  24. I enjoy Corey Hart. Glad he figured out his swing & has been so productive.
