K-Rod was at least saying all the right things when he reported to camp last Friday (later than the other pitchers due to personal issues), but it's hard to not think this stuff is coming from a genuine place -

Some interesting notes on Greinke from Adam McCalvy's blog post "Greinke talks about scouting trip"

Adam McCalvy's latest blog post is about Axford's interest in filmmaking, including how the Ax Man fared in his 2012 Oscars predictions. Fun read.

I actually don't think Roenicke is an idiot, which is why it's frustrating to see him play small-ball. He was part of an Angels team that won a WS with that style, so my guess is he thinks that approach is the one that has to be disproved. But I do think he's smart, and open to being proven wrong in terms of strategy. My guess is he won't stop bunting, but when he talks about being open to conflicting opinions, I believe him.

Roenicke won't, but that would be an ideal lineup imo. Gamel is a perfect #2 hitter for this team.

nooooooooooooooo i want it i want it! odds are they will still be for sale when you arrive in august at the fanzone inside the stadium. Man, and the perfect thing to ask for from the Brewers would be these two giveaways. You've already purchased tickets to 7 games, it's the least they could do imo for a visiting international fan. Maybe a picture with the Italian Sausage, too? The Brewers seem pretty PR-savvy, so it wouldn't surprise me if they'd be game for all of this.

If an OF gets traded now, I think it should be Morgan, as I view Aoki as a Nyjer Morgan who can hit LHP. If your read on Aoki is correct, monty, then I would agree moving Morgan could make sense. And the scenario you propose is a good fit for this roster.

I always have a moment of disbelief whenever I'm reminded that people still use IE. Google Chrome. Do it.

Somebody (official Brewers source like Hardricourt or McCalvy) tweeted something about this this past week. I can't find it now, with all that has happened. It said that Hart didn't dislike hitting in the 5 hole, he just didn't like hitting right behind Fielder. The funny thing is that, on his career, his OPS while hitting 1st or 2nd isn't really much better than his OPS batting 5th or 6th.

I didn't realize we could vote multiple times until seeing your post... so, 3 more from me

    Berggren, I presume?

    Gotta love Seth Rogen... http://i.imgur.com/b0iee.jpg

Totally agree on Target Field. For anyone going, be sure to walk in at the RF gate. It's a cool way to enter the park, & that's where the Puckett & Killebrew statues are.

! I love ST photos. I guess it's just something about the more laid-back environment.

Once again, Adam McCalvy with some excellent blog content. "Opponents react to Braun news", including comments from McGehee, Braun's best friend (I didn't know that) Gaby Sanchez, and a Cards trifecta: Matheny, Berkman, & (former UMiami teammate) Jon Jay. Amen, LaTroy. (2nd bolded part is my emphasis)

See, this is why I can't be a film critic. Something so obvious, yet I miss it!

Or wasn't it? You can't explain that

Tejada was mentioned in the background by the PA announcer(s), & they at least addressed him being in the story by casting someone who at least sorta looks like the real Miguel. Chavez was briefly in one of those 'Billy explains his shift in philosophy to his players' montages, it was in a weight room & I think another notable pitcher was in there with him. Maybe Mulder? I think Beane called Chavez "Chavy".

That would make more sense--I had assumed MLB meant that he was experienced in the exact same process he carried out on October 1st. And even though yours was the post I quoted, yoyo, I don't mean to take a stance against you in any way. There's just been a lot of assumption that we the fans know what 'should' have happened, and we probably never will fully know. Generally speaking, the people who'd even get considered for this kind of job would be uber-qualified & have lots of endorsements of their character, both personally & professionally. If 'foul play' turns out to be the case, it will be shocking to me, but even moreso disappointing.
  23. TooLiveBrew
Sadly, 'leaking' can definitely be used as an art form. Yes I'm cynical in thinking this, but with the collector's name leaked, there sure seems to be a lot more discussion just focusing on him & not MLB, doesn't there? Honestly, though, I think it's a mix of both incompetence & malice. That's a wicked combo.

I can see the t-shirts now... 'Aoki is a-ok' And hard not to agree that the Braves would be a logical target if Melvin would totally break character & deal a veteran for a young, cost-controlled player

    Yes.
