  1. Because rankings in early January really don't mean much? That's one reason.
  2. What kind of tv do you play on? I used to have this problem with Madden when I was on a non hdtv. As soon as I bought an HDTV I was able to see the entire field. Needless to say I wasnt throwing pics into the flats and my record online boomed. It's happened either on a standard/old TV or on a newer HD/flatscreen TV. I tried adjusting the game camera... I'll have to try again.
  3. I disagree. UW is legit this year, and I don't have any hesitation in saying that. They match up well with absolutely any kind of team (big, small, halfcourt, fullcourt). The only achilles heel imo is the lack of a legit post presence like Aldrich of KU (just an off-the-top-of-my-head example).
  4. Paul Molitor was basically voted in for being a DH He had more ABs as a position player than as a DH, so it's not a good comparison imo. Molitor really only started DHing as his main gig in 1991.
  5. But in 2012... he will totally show all of you guys I think as of right now, I'd like to see Escobar & Gomez batting 7th & 8th. I really don't care which one goes where, to be honest.
  6. Hah, I should probably just take credit, but definitely unintentional http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Ok, so I have a kind of embarassing question... I still just have a PS2, and since I don't really play it for the graphics, I haven't bothered updating from my (EA) NCAA College Football 2008. What drives me bat-poop crazy with this game is that, with the widest game camera view available, you still can't see the entire width of the field (or close enough to the entire width to function). This results in basically completely guessing on any shorter routes to the wide split receivers on anything that isn't a hot slant. Needless to say, this drives me freakin' crazy. Does any newer PS2 college football game clean up this mess of an issue? Maybe a wider camera view in-game? I like EA's series in general, but this is one glitch that has absolutely stopped me from playing it. My concern is that I don't want to just go buy 2009 or 2010 if the same problem exists. Ok, end rant of the guy that's currently too cheap to upgrade his system.
  8. I'd much rather just stick with Gerut than sign Winn. Gerut at least has power and isn't getting ancient.
  9. I've been in IL over the New Year's timeframe, and it was flat-out hilarious to read about how OMGz terrible Milton Bradley is & how solid of a signing this is by Hendry. One direct quote from the Tribune on Byrd: "He plays a solid center field". Excitement! I'm just glad Hendry was alseep at the wheel long enough for the Cubs to miss out on Cameron. That would have actually been a difference-making signing.
  10. Maybe I'm just a nut-case, but I really see Nick Swisher 2008 when I see J.J. Hardy 2009. I really expect him to bounce back in 2010 & beyond.
  11. Leuer also needs to work on his defense, imho. I agree that he's going to be scary good next season, though. I think this may be a really special season for UW. They can score from anywhere on the court, have senior leadership, great guards, and play terrific team basketball. I couldn't agree more, homer. I think you can count the teams in the NCAA that outclass the Badgers (in terms of personell) on one hand... maybe two. I don't see any team in the Big Ten that's clearly better than Bucky.
  12. Pretty cool that you got such a candid (if non-commital) response. Once I get back home from holiday vacationing, I plan to dive right into that book. Yes, I forgot to bring it along with me... d'oh!
  13. Cameron could swat, but his OBP was kinda low Cameron was a top-10 CF, even if you only evaluate based on offense. We're probably going to take a big step down in CF in terms of hitting.
  14. When looking how the team compares to last years team, I was looking at who we lost and who we gained. Regardless of bad Looper pitched, he was the winning pitcher in 14 games meaning somehow the Brewers managed to win when he was pitching. And this is exactly the type of plug-n-play logic that people have been pointing out as flawed.
  15. Harden's talented, but he can't stay off the DL. Hasn't even reached 150 IP since 2004.
  16. What I heard from a Sawx fan on another forum is... Obviously I don't have any kind of insider access, so take that as you will.
  17. "Stunning" is probably the word I'd choose for Invisible Man, too.
  18. Without looking up park factors, and only going off of dimensions, PNC Park isn't exactly a RH hitter's paradise, either. Bay managed to put up some very impressive numbers there (outside of 2007, which was an uncharacteristically down year). I think the Mets will likely get upper or mid-.800s OPS production out of Bay for the duration of the contract (assuming he stays healthy). That's about as nicely as they can hope to do imo, given their ballpark. I do have to agree with crewcrazy that this seems like a move made out of desparation, rather than one with a strong plan in mind.
  19. DMBstream.com Incredible site
  20. Streaming, free, live Dave Matthews/DMB/Dave&Tim shows
  21. The Goold article notes that Boras typically works down his list of clients in terms of prestige. Beltre & Lopez are on that list, so once Holliday finds a home, I'd look for them to sign.
  22. After (personally) not hearing much about Lopez this offseason, I just stumbled across an update from MLBTradeRumors: It's good the Brewers didn't offer Lopez arbitration, since he likely would have accepted. I don't mean that I dislike him as a player, but obv. money is very tight this offseason. I also would hate to see him sign with the Cards, but I have to admit that'd make a lot of sense.
  23. The Giants: Plan? We don't need no stinking plan!
  24. Great advice. The tips on cabs are great, too. Glad you had fun, Adam!
  25. Or he could hit a lazy flyball that carries out with the wind blowing out at Wrigley.
