  1. That Chris Andersen seems like one classy dude.
  2. We're seriously going to get bent out of shape over a 2 month sample? No, I asked you an honest question
  3. McCutcheon nearly hit a go-ahead solo shot in the bottom of the 14th tonight in Atlanta as part of a 4-hit night. He hit a missile to straightaway CF, & McLouth caught it at the wall. I have to agree with tfot, this guy is super-fast, and if he learns to use that gap in PNC he could be a menace.
  4. Well, I'm on-board with you on that one. I think Hardy is pretty overrated offensively, because of his streaky hitting as you said I think if you compare Hardy to his peers at SS, you will see why he's valued so highly both on offense & defense.
  5. You might want to double check your stats next time as well. He's up near .800... and he's been trending positively for a month. How is he/has he been hitting RHP?
  6. "That's probably what people say he is," said Melvin. "But this guy keeps hitting. He has hit at each level he has played, and he's got a plus arm. That has to make the Katin-backers happy. Clearly the organization is well aware of the kinds of weapons his two main tools are.
  7. I guess when I read posts that look at Escobar's total 2009 line & just say, 'He's ready', I always want to throw up the stop sign. Once Alcides starts handling RHP, then I think he can be declared ready.
  8. I really think Gamel has a great chance. Playing 3B should help him a bit compared to the OF like McCutchen/Rasmus/Parra/Coghlan, and I am a huge believer in his bat. I think his defense will be adequate with the chance to be even better than that.
  9. If Colletti can find a way to move Pierre & that horrible contract he offered him, that in & of itself should get him some GMOTY votes. On a semi-related note, I just want to gush over how much I like Kemp. Living, breathing 5-tool player & why scouts go bananas over certain prospects.
  10. Last night the blooper that fell in front of McLouth is a perfect example of why he hurts you in CF. Imho it's also a great example of why a casual fan might feel that McLouth is a good defender -- 'He just couldn't get to that one, it wasn't bad fielding'
  11. PHI's Raul Ibanez flashes his superior range & ability with the leather at LAD in the bottom of the 7th. I hope that one makes the highlight shows... wound up a 2B for Furcal. To be fair, the ball was hit well, but not only did Ibanez track the ball poorly & fail to execute the catch, he looked like he got a case of the wall-yips to boot.
  12. And I'm sure he, along with the rest of another TLR-skippered team, is clean as a whistle now
  13. No one is bashing Katin, either. Some just don't feel that he's ready, and honestly he just doesn't look ready yet. Yes, raw power is a huge part of becoming a contributor at the big-league level, but if you have no plate discipline, you just become a relatively easy out for MLB pitchers.
  14. I actually have never played any RPGs. This one looks pretty cool. Yeah the Kingons (or gainfully employed, non-SW geek) probably have you on their radar. Touche...
  15. I will definitely be tuning in for tomorrow night's game. I want to see Ankiel knocked down, and hard.
  16. Oh, and he was cussing at him while at the plate. Wow, this is honeslty one of the [_____]iest things I've ever seen from a MLBer. Ankiel is ... I can't continue posting because I don't want a strike. LOSER Oh, and the classy Cards announcers are laughing & lauding the merits of intimidating other players. You stay KKKlassy, St. Louis.
  17. Just pasting my post from the 6/5/09 non-Brewers IGT here... keep in mind the timing of this was bottom of the 7th at home against COL, with STL losing 11-3. On his double, Ankiel was pointing at & taunting/jawing at JDLR, running to 1B. What a moron. The gap between Cards' fans perception of their crap-head team & reality is shocking. What a bunch of classless losers.

  19. Ankiel laces a 1-R 2B to the RF wall, Pujols to the plate with runners at 2B & 3B... 11-3 Rockies. Still 2 outs, bot. 7th. De la Rosa now up over 100 pitches, and that's it for him. Final line: 6.2 IP, 7 H, 3 R (3 ER), 2 BB, 7 K, 2 HR
  20. Facing Ankiel now with runners on 1B & 2B & 2 outs
  21. Just got a grounder to the 1B Helton, & Jorge didn't get off the mound, so it's an IF single. Big brain fart for Jorge. That should/could have been the inning.
  22. Just surrendered his second BB of the game & is now around 95 pitches with two outs in the bot. 7th & a runner on first
  23. Through 6 IP, here is De la Rosa's line: 4 H, 1 R (1 ER), 1 BB, 7 K, 1 HR, 79 pitches (52 strikes) Oh yeah, the game is at St. Louis & the Rockies lead 11-2 now after Jorge surrendered a leadoff HR (second of the game; other was by Pujols) in the bottom of the 7th to Yadier Molina on a 3-1 pitch.
  24. Sorry, stupid Burger King commercial playing on Klingons... the Kingons beam down to some guy's pad to steal his BK commemerative Star Trek drinking glasses, and also take his gf.
