    I agree, but Leyland LOVES Garcia. I'd be shocked if they traded him. And I'd be REALLY shocked if they traded him for a mediocre shortstop. I just don't get Detroit's thinking on that one at all.

    Just look at the Phillies' roster. Then look at what they owe 2 years from now. I've been laughing at them for years. Edit: They owe Lee, Hamels, Papelbon, Howard & Rollins $96.5MM for 2015.

    Yes, but the minor league sample size isn't particularly encouraging. It's not terrible, but it's not very good either.

    I was wondering when this topic would come up. I guess I wouldn't have a problem with Gennett coming up, but he isn't likely to be any good either. As someone said earlier, just make sure the 2015 option doesn't vest.

    Would be nice if he stuck at 3rd, but I like it either way. Way better prospect than I expected to get for him. Good riddance to K-Rod.

    This is nearly exactly how I feel. My first thought was how much salary this clears up for draft picks and/or international signings. Same.

    I agree Pogo. I think Segura is 4th on this list by a fairly wide margin (my words not yours). I still think he's going to be a very good player, but I think the other 3 are going to be superstars. Also, I think Harper will be consistent 40 HR guy too within 2 years, and stay that way for a while, barring injury. His swing is incredibly powerful.

    I thought about this too, but some, if not all, of these guys will be far more valuable in July than December.
