  1. Just saw the obstruction play. You guys weren't kidding. That is very possibly the worst call I've ever seen.
  2. That one I saw. What a horrendous call. How the home plate ump missed it is beyond me.
  3. I remember the meltdown here when he was traded. Now he can't even make an opening day roster at the age of almost 25.
  4. I'm assuming all that war "difference" is defense and baserunning. Both of which this team seems to be either elite (defense) at or very good (baserunning) at. I love the makeup of the team. Need to get the key guys back and a couple others to career norms and then look out.
  5. It isn't really making a mountain out of a molehill when you evaluate him based on his entire Brewers tenure. There were reasons to be intrigued about him when he signed but he just hasn't panned out the way an optimist would've hoped for. Tough to give him the benefit of last year being an outlier year with Covid considering he is past his prime and doesn't have a great track record to begin with. At this point I think he's provided a large enough sample to say he's just a below average player who has hurt our lineup and the money to sign him could've been better spent elsewhere. Hopefully the Brewers view his contract as a sunk cost and give Taylor an opportunity instead of continuing to trot Garcia out there. His entire Brewer career is a half a season. He's been bad, not arguing that, but the sample is still quite small.
  6. But those 3 1/3 innings from Knebel! Sample Size. Sample Size. Sample Size. Let's give another couple months to see if JBJ actually has a .556 OPS or Garcia a .619 on, say, Father's Day. It's frustrating that the only 2 well-paid OF we have that aren't hurt are struggling right now, but give it some time.
  7. Just glad it's a "normal" start time. Rogers is very good. This should be a great game.
  8. Generally agree. I'm hoping he can be good enough to deserve some of Vogelbach's at bats.
  9. Yeah, he's gotta go down as soon as Wong and Yelich are back. We're trying to win a pennant here. Narvaez/McKinney/Wong/Urias/Shaw/Yelich/Cain/Garcia is the starting 8 to me, with Bradley and Vogelbach sprinkled in occasionally. If he comes back strong, great, because the team is pretty left-handed hitting heavy right now (never thought I'd say that).
  10. Some quick Corbin Burnes numbers: .098 Opponents's BA .329 WHIP 1107 ERA+ 1.5 WAR on April 20th. Infinite K/BB L O L
  11. Thanks for the input everyone. I figured I was low. Was thinking of all the assets the White Sox got for Sale and Quintana and how we might be able to set outlrselves up similarly.
  12. So, if you're Stearns, what are you offering Woodruff and Burnes right now to buy out their arby and a couple years of FA? 5/50? I really don't know. I feel like I'd be thrilled if they both signed that right now, but would they?
  13. Well, yeah, it does. I should've said REALLY silly haha.
  14. This thread is going to look silly in October.
  15. I mean, he was clearly out. But I get the point. He does not have a good arm.
  16. I don’t think so and I certainly don’t think that either HBP was on purpose this week, but McCalvy shared this and I guess I hadn’t realized the Brewers have now hit Contreras in 6 of the last 11 games in which they’ve faced him. That's awesome, but 7 of 12 will be better.
  17. And his idiot nephew Ziggy. Ziggy is Frank's son, not nephew. Nick is Frank's nephew. I can't believe I got that wrong. But I did.
  18. Yep! Frank Sobotka. And his idiot nephew Ziggy.
  19. Braves have been even worse. On topic, good riddance. Just a terrible player. Any return is gravy. At least we're not paying him. Should've never been tendered to begin with.
