  1. I assume you get your local channels? If so, this seems like a great way to go.
  2. Elvis Andrus is saying "hold my beer." I stand corrected! Edit: No I don't. All hail king Orlando! Further edit: And for the record, I agree that they should keep him this year and pray a switch gets flipped. They've already burned the $2,000,000 so might as well hope for the best. I really hope they don't start him at ss over Urias though. We need to figure out what we have in Luis.
  3. I don't get the Arcia love. He's literally the worst hitter in baseball over the last 3 years. Yeah he's a decent shortstop, probably slightly above average, but that doesn't come close to making up for his bat. I really can't believe they paid him $2,000,000. It still baffles me.
  4. He always struck me as a knob (Josh that is). And after scrolling through his Twitter page, I was definitely right.
  5. He's 27 and has thrown 83 professional innings in his career, the last 3 years ago. Anything is possible, but I hope he invested his bonus money wisely.
  6. Yeah, Petit would have been great for that contract. I'm sure he didn't want to leave Oakland though.
  7. I'd bet a lot of money the Brewers finish ahead of the Cardinals. The Cardinals coming in 4th wouldn't surprise me at all.
  8. Now we don't like first round playoff exits? We've become spoiled. Well you have anyway. Dude. I was a fan of Skip Lockwood and Gus Gil. So I think I've earned some impatience with the playoff stage being too bright for Hader, Suter, Gallardo...hell, Pete Ladd. I want a ring before I freakin' die, so yeah, playoff chokes don't do much for me. Dude. OK. So was I. I appreciate some success. It's a nice change of pace. After reading further, I see we're just going full non sequitur so I'll bow out.
  9. I didn't either. But 18 was great and even 19 was damn exciting. I'm pretty confident this team is better than last year, and possibly by a fair amount.
  10. Now we don't like first round playoff exits? We've become spoiled. Well you have anyway. I'd prefer a longer run but I enjoy the hell out of playoff baseball. Also, the Brewers are pretty clearly the best team in the division in my view. We shall see.
  11. Just a hunch, but do you work for the government? Post of the year.
  12. 1. 1992 Brewers. So you were a kid. One of my 3 favorite Brewer teams. Edit for clarification: Brewers offense was pretty good, 5th in the AL in runs scored despite hitting a whopping 82 HR as a team (!). Different world. Pitching-wise 1st in ERA, 2nd in ERA+. Fielding hard to say. They were pretty good though from memory (FWIW). Above average. I agree with everything else you said...good points.
  13. And this will be enforced how? I'm assuming the parking lots will be open since people need to park somewhere. Are they going to have security or police walking the lots telling drunks they can't stand around outside their cars? That's not going to end well. I would assume that's exactly what they'll do. No loitering or you'll be arrested. With small numbers of fans, I really don't think it'll be a huge problem.
  14. Lol Haudricourt is a complete and utter hack. He used to be a good reporter. Unfortunately that was like 30 years ago.
  15. Of course he is. The article was that the Brewers needed to cut payroll and weren't going to sign anyone. They haven't really cut payroll and signed two name free agents, along with bringing in/back guys like Shaw and Anderson. His article was blatantly incorrect. Says you, I suppose. Off the top of my head they’re done 40+ million from last year with Braun, Sogard, Smoak, Gyorko, Knebel gone, all of who. Those not named Braun all had contracts in excess of 4 million dollars. On top of that, Arcia, Narvaez and Brett Anderson all took pay cuts. In terms of major league guaranteed contracts they signed Wong for 9 and Bradley for 12. Haudricourt still has the math right, even if you don’t like him. Obviously the reader isn’t supposed to take him literally when he says they aren’t “going to sign anyone”. I doubt a team has ever fielded a 40 man roster where all 40 players were in their organization the year before Except Tommy said that 6 weeks ago. And the Brewers have spent roughly $25M (conservatively) since then. So no, as usual, Tommy doesn't have the math right.
  16. Though I like this signing, for me anyway, this doesn't tell me or show me the Brewers won't spend money. It's a two year deal with an opt out after 1 at 12 million/yr. VERY team friendly. To show me they are willing/can spend money I would need to see some long term deals..3 years minimum(preferably 4-5) for Free agents before I'm inclined to think they will spend $$. No, re signing Yelich doesn't count(in my book). Now get 2 or more other guys locked up like that, THEN I will be convinced they spend money. Based on this theory the Padres signing Tatis Jr. doesn't prove they will spend money either. That sounds like a dumb theory to me. Angels give Trout $430,000,000. Angels=cheap.
  17. It's actually not very team-friendly. It's a player option, which immediately takes away "team-friendly". I like the signing, but I certainly wouldn't call it team-friendly. Right, but if Bradley has a huge year he will have delivered great value for the 12 million dollar salary (which by today’s standards isn’t much), and Bradley will decline his option and enter free agency. Even if he puts up his career numbers and exercises his option for 2022. 12 million places him right in line with what other non-marquee corner outfielders for like Joc Pederson, Kyle Schwarber etc Just saying it's not team-friendly. If he has that great year, he's gone. Which is ok, like you said, but you sure would wish that 2nd year wasn't an option.
  18. I think he wakes up and goes on Twitter to see what's happening with the Brewers.

  20. Hader makes a ton of sense for us as well... We can win the Central, then anything can happen in the playoffs. Hader isnt a FA until 2024, we have NO reason to trade the best reliever in baseball. OK. Did I say otherwise?
  21. Yeah, I'm not impressed by San Diego's bullpen. They could be very good, but I don't think they will be. Hader makes a ton of sense for them.
  22. They added two pretty good relievers this offseason in Kela and Melancon so I'm not really sure what you're talking about. If they're counting on those two for high-leverage innings I think they're going to be disappointed. Melancon's K rate plummeted and he's old. Kela has thrown 30 innings in the last 2 years.
