  1. This is the real issue. You will guess wrong on some moves or non-moves, but you have to make the moves for the right reasons. Once they decided to acquire Moustakas and play Shaw at 2B, they should have crossed Schoop off the list. In a vacuum, I would have been fine with taking the gamble, and even with gambling on him again next year, but I think they had an itchy trigger finger at the deadline and that's not a good way to operate. If Schoop had a .900 OPS for the Brewers there'd be no talk of "fit". He didn't hit. Period. If he had he'd have been a fit. Thank you Johnnie Cochran.
  2. Cano & $60,000,000 for Braun. I'm in. Of course neither player waives their ntc, but still.
  3. Well, there's literally nothing worse color-wise than orange & teal, so I'd consider this a pretty big improvement.
  4. Brooks Robinson? Nah. Boggs, Brett, Jones & Beltre to me are 3-6 in some order. I think the line is pretty clear among the top 6. Schmidt and Mathews head and shoulders above everyone for me.
  5. Well, I think it was fairly obvious the price would be huge, so yeah, risking a massive prospect haul on a guy who gets hurt every year never made any sense for us. Peralta, Diplan Stokes? Yeah I'd do that. Not Burnes though as you said.
  6. He's one of the 5 best third basemen ever in my opinion. He should be a first ballot guy, but probably won't be (cynical because sportswriters suck at HOF balloting).
  7. This would be the equivalent of us sending the Mariners Burnes, Trey Supak or Zach Brown, and Troy Stokes I guess. Probably a solid deal for both sides. And given Paxton's injury risk, hard pass on that if I'm the Brewers. Burnes for Paxton straight up would have been an overpay. Yep. I love Paxton, but he never made any sense for us.
  8. Sounds like Hader. Really like this deal for Seattle based on limited information.
  9. Man, Steve Karsay was supposed to be the next big thing. Takes me back. I seem to recall massive arm problems.
  10. I assume then you also aren't interested in Ramos, as he is worse defensively... I suspect it will either be Realmuto or Nottingham pairing with Pina to open 2018, far more likely to be Nottingham than Pina...and I'm ok with that. You assume correctly. I have no problem with any of the options you listed, although I'm not sure about Nottingham's defense. At least if he's bad he's league minimum instead of $5MM per. If my catcher can hit, that's a huge bonus, but he better be good defensively. I want 2017 Pina back even though I know it's unlikely.
  11. Fine with me. I have no use for bad defensive catchers.
  12. @FreezingColdTakes A lot of 'new' posters saying absurd things that arent true. Shocker. Of course that doesn't mean this one poster is new. I also didn't say that. Edit: I can see why people thought I did though. That whole post was screwed up quote-wise.
  13. Yeah, the Sandusky sign was completely idiotic. And not even a tiny bit funny.
  14. Don't believe what for a second? That he actually grabbed his crotch? I was watching the game at home and said to my wife "now he's grabbing his crotch at the crowd". It wasn't clear as day on TV but he definitely did it. He's a punk. Puig's a punk. We've had players that were punks too. Overall I don't really care much. Reflects poorly on them, but they don't care so why should I?
  15. Haha, did you catch the Infield Fly Rule discussion last night as well? You mean when Muncy inexplicably didn't drop that pop up? Are you referring to the IGT?
  16. There is no evidence of clutchness. There are plenty of outliers both ways.
  17. I can't believe there is still a debate about RBIs. In 2018. And "clutchness". Lordy.
  18. What did he allegedly say off-camera? Can't find anything on it. Warning, not safe for work: Link. Thanks. Amen Christian. Amen.
  19. As a Brewer fan, that game was tough to handle. But as a baseball fan? Wow! Neither team's pitching staff cracked. It was one of those games where it was just unfortunate one team had to lose. As a four, actually five, decade fan of the Crew I am hurting as much as anyone. At the same time absolutely jacked to get this game 5 going. It has been thoroughly entertaining and maddening and exhilerating and heartbreaking and heart stopping to watch this series unfold. Can't wait to see this team respond. Ditto. I get the frustration, of course, but that was a great baseball game last night. Wrong team won, but let's do it again!

  21. As fun as always. Sucks they lost, but what a great game. Lol at anyone calling that "junk".
  22. I agree with this post. I have the pre game show on in the background usually, and, as you said, there was a very interesting segment involving Girardi on Saturday (I think). Other than that, I haven't seen much where I learned anything. Also, making fun of Packer fans on Facebook regarding their hatred of Buck and Aikman is a fun activity. Edit to add: Smoltz is outstanding in terms of learning how a pitcher thinks. I really like him overall.
  23. I could be wrong but I feel like the tix don't show up until 24 hours before the game on the Ballpark app. I've used it a few times this year and I seem to recall getting anxious about finding my tix and then all of a sudden they'd show up the day before the game. I have them. It took 90 minutes of changing passwords and refreshing the app, but I have them. I'm sure the Ballpark app works wonderfully under normal circumstances, but these tickets were transferred to me by an MLB official so it was a complete disaster for whatever reason. Brewers.com had nothing to do with this, so I slandered them for no reason. Mea culpa.
