  1. Had a friend send me 4 for Friday night. It is almost unfathomable how terrible the Ballpark app and Brewers.com are. It's absolutely ridiculous how impossible both are to navigate. I just want to print my tickets, but I can't because Brewers.com refuses to recognize any of the passwords that I've gotten from them. Just a horrendous experience. I've been on hold for 10 minutes now trying to get an explanation. I should've just driven to Chicago to physically pick them up from my buddy. Would've been easier.
  2. Astros offense is actually better. As is their defense. As is their bullpen. And everyone on their team other than Cole did this last year. Which doesn't even cover the chasm between the starting roatations. I usually agree with you but I think you're waaaaay off base on this one. 2018 Yankees: batters 29.4 fWAR (+93.4 offense, -14.7 fielding) (4th in MLB), pitchers 26.6 fWAR (2nd in MLB) 2018 Astros: batters 24.7 fWAR (+64.2 offense, -26.2 fielding) (11th in MLB), pitchers 30.7 fWAR (1st in MLB) And the Yankees improved the most down the stretch by adding Voit, McCutchen, Happ, etc. The Astros are severely overrated, I guess because they are national media darlings and have been in the WS recently? Their pitching staff was so amazing this year because they had 5 top starters. That's sort of irrelevant in the playoffs, where you can get by with 3 starters and a bullpen. That takes away most of what made the 2018 Astros elite. 100 better in run differential. Best bullpen ERA in the league. Better team OPS+ than the Yankees. Better DRS by a fair margin. The fact that Happ, Voit and McCutchen were improvements doesn't actually strengthen your argument either. It's really not close.
  3. Much better offense, better defense, better bullpen, starting rotation closer than most people think. Not really laughable. Astros offense is actually better. As is their defense. As is their bullpen. And everyone on their team other than Cole did this last year. Which doesn't even cover the chasm between the starting roatations. I usually agree with you but I think you're waaaaay off base on this one.
  4. Houston being worse than the Yankees is frankly laughable to me. Gimme the Yankees easily. Then Boston, then Houston.
  5. I wasn't sure where that was going when it started, but I was laughing my ass off by the end Yeah, a bit of a slow starter but pretty funny by the end.
  6. Didn't know where else to put this, and not sure if it's been posted, but
  7. And that wasn't even playing-with-his-hair-on-fire Yelich. Gonna need him, obviously.
  8. Anyone got a link to a Dodgers board?
  9. Yep. Me too. I had several friends on social media mention that they couldn't take any more of this stress. I responded by saying give me 18 more one run games [after yesterday]. There is nothing more fun than having your team in the baseball playoffs. Hanging on every pitch for 300 pitches. Yeah, odds are the Brewers won't win it all, but holy hell is it fun finding out.
  10. A really good pitcher started pitching good instead of pitching bad. Is that analytics? I say yes. Your hatred/fear is funny.
  11. Good game thread. I don't blame anyone for the negativity in the 9th. Should've had 5 or 6 runs by then. I was watching at a bar and there was plenty of negativity to around. Really surprised there was only one comment about Yelich's at bat in the 10th. Just phenomenal work by Christian there. That AB won them the game. With regard to the relievers, it's all hands on deck today, minus Woodruff. And as stated, I think they'd prefer to not pitch Hader, but he certainly could go. Win today please.
  12. http://i.imgur.com/F4FUdt3.jpg Yeah, this thing has legs. I've decided I'm in. With a logo like this, the pen will be unbeatable!
  13. This is one of my favorite posts of all time. And that's probably not a compliment. I'm a don'ter. This sounds like a Coach Cooper pre-game speech...
  14. Or fantastic. I'll go with fantastic.
  15. No worries. I know your type. I work in politics and I see your type all every now and then. You know the type I'm talking about because you're one of them. The type that always complains or belittles the ideas of others because that's easy. You know the type, the ones that never come up with ideas of their own. The type that never takes a chance or puts themselves out there for others to judge because it's too easy for you to bully someone or knock them down. Even if it's a person's first post, you gotta be mean. Not critical in a positive way, but downright mean. Yep, you know that type very well because it's you. A wise man once told me there are doers in this world and don'ters. The doers make the world go round and live meaningful lives. Don'ters are the obstacles the doers must overcome on their way to acheiving greatness. A doer makes history. A don'ter is small and insignificant. Your above comment is a small one. I love the Frosty Boys nickname. I think it is true genius and a very fitting nickname for the bullpen. I credit the caller Mike for coming up with it and his remarkable call to Tim Allen. Now that is a doer. This is one of my favorite posts of all time. And that's probably not a compliment. I'm a don'ter.
  16. He could take the rest of the lineup after the 1st inning and stop at Blackmon. You'd be getting as many innings out of him as you typically do from any LHP reliever. I agree that his roster spot is far from assured though, and I would probably vote against it. Actually, after thinking for a bit, I assume he starts in Colorado. Since he is a ground ball pitcher, save him for that stadium. Is he going to get the same movement though? Wonder how he has done in Colorado before. I went through his game logs. He hasn't pitched in Coors since April of 2014. He had 4 starts and 1 relief appearance for the Diamondbacks. Starts in 2011, 2013, and 2 in 2014 and relieved in 2013. Total stats: 28 1/3 IP 33 Hits 15 ER 10 BB 16 K 4.76 ERA 1.52 WHIP 2 good starts, 2 bad starts and a good relief appearance.
  17. It's possible to not be offended by him but think his schtick was stupid, like I do. I don't care when Braun stares down a double or guys do QB sack dances after walks (unless they are Contreras). I just thought it was dumb. Yep.
  18. Yeah, good call. Dude was a clown. As mentioned, I appreciated his contribution, but he's a dope.
  19. Yippee One of my least favorite Brewers ever.
  20. Yeah, they won't do that. That adds 3 or 4 days. It's already pushing November most years. There will be one or two 3 pm weekday games during the LCS — probably Tuesday and Wednesday There were 3 last year. Which is what I was basing it off of. 3 days they don't have to play in November, which is a big deal.
  21. Yeah, they won't do that. That adds 3 or 4 days. It's already pushing November most years. There's still a game every night. There's just one during the day 3 or 4 times during the lcs's.
  22. Totally fine with this. I'll miss a bit of the Friday game, but whatever. Get to see Thursday in it's entirety. Noon would have sucked.
  23. This is my roster as well. Last spot would be down to Davies & Broxton, but I would go with Broxton.
  24. As mentioned, Yount was a good shortstop who hit the hell out of the ball that season. He's the benchmark. I would put Yelich second though. 2nd half carried the Brewers to an unlikely division title.
