  1. if a company could give you free replacements for shoddy merchandise, then i have a complaint to take up with Hyundai...and Taco Bell.
  2. i don't know if this counts as advertising, Hawing, so delete it if necessary, but my father lives in Middleton and has been repairing clocks for 30+ years. he's also not a jerk:) i'd be happy to forward you his number if you ever needed anything else done. what bugs me: men who wear their hats indoors.
  3. my first thought is that Macha would probably be a great manager for the Yankees. it seems like his skill is with older, veteran players but not younger ones. i don't think Macha was being out of line saying that at all. and whether or not Braun and Fielder are hard to get along with, you won't do well as our manager if you can't talk to the two star players.
  4. beating up Cardinals fans?
  5. Prince isn't smiling. you're right. i should have said something alone the lines of "showing emotion."
  6. "The placement of Macha's right hand is unintentionally hilarious." what i find funny is Macha is the only one in the picture not smiling.
  7. so, like, a list of our favourite movies? i already haven't seen a lot of these.
  8. but he's got two rings. weren't we finding things to nitpick about Buck Showalter, too?
  9. is there any way to access your text messaging from your new phone? that would be awesome to send texts to his girlfriend from what she thinks is his phone.
  10. Cartoons today stink. uh, cartoons in the 80s were probably worse. although i miss the Saturday morning cartoon marathons. it was like Sunday football but for little kids. now you can watch cartoons any time and that stinks.
  11. Dukes of Hazzard.
  12. awesome, Joe! Sledge Hammer was my absolute favourite show when i was a kid! i loved that show. i was a big Weird Al fan and remember going to the theater when that movie came out, sitting with my brother and all of four other people. "What's wrong, George?" "You don't want to know." "Then why'd I ask?" Huey Lewis is nothing to feel guilty about. there was a short period where they were selling better than Springsteen.
  13. if you do a quick search, there's a Bucks thread that is active all season in the Off Topic Forum on bf.net. and it's busy enough it tends to stay on the first page.
  14. i play on the ciV (Civ V) strategic mode, which dumbs down the graphics and makes the whole thing a lot faster. there's a lot i like about Civ V, but not a huge amount more than Civ IV.
  15. i bought ciV (Civ V) a few days ago. it's 4:30 in the morning. this is really not good at all. though i don't have to get up for work, this still isn't right. probably soon there is going to be a computer game giveaway. same fate as Civ IV.
  16. what's going to be doubly sad is when their draft pick luck runs out. and here i thought their attendance would completely turn around once they changed "Devil Rays" to just "Rays"
  17. how do we really know he was treated tenderly in Cuba?
  18. i'm definitely not buying the thought that Fielder will take a pay cut to stay in Milwaukee with his buddy Weeks. an extra $5M a year from someone is a lot to turn down. i'm not convinced yet that Fielder will be gone in the offseason. DM might very well be happy enough to get one decent pitcher from someone like McGehee. then maybe he'll be so disappointed with the offseason Fielder offers that he'll feel that the Type A comp picks won't be any worse than trading him (or that we'll get as much in a 2011 late-season trade). plus then we'll keep a star player and not risk hurting attendance numbers for next year.
  19. mildly entertained by "Outsourced," but it's like they pulled out every single future storyline to that show in the first episode. now we already know every single thing that's going to happen. i miss Parks&Rec already.
  20. seems a little rash to never pull out an iPod in public again. everyone's got one, and if the dude really wanted one from someone he would have gotten it. not to mention there were other people around at the bus stop. it's a pretty isolated incident by an idiot kid and certainly not triggered by you doing anything foolish. i really hope after the shock of this wears off (understanding that may be a good while) that you won't end up losing a lot of your comfort by not doing something simple like listening to music, that you weren't exactly targeted, and that this was just an impulse action by some idiot kid.
  21. i'm doubting the show will care too much that too much time has passed vs. ending the Michael character on a happy note. it'd be too depressing to see Michael leave due to some bad news, especially when his character has had that attitude all series of "desperately want to get married." makes me think of All In The Family. they ended the series with Edith dying of a heart attack, and i read somewhere that it made regular viewers so upset that it really hurt later syndication. obviously something that dramatic wouldn't happen to Michael, but bad news is bad news. and i just can't figure any other form of good news that Michael would leave the company for other than to get back with Holly permanently--hard to figure that they would introduce a brand new woman to this season and then spend valuable story time getting us to fall in love with her like we did for Holly already. good point about not continuing the 30 Rock storyline with the kidney. that irks me. too many shows just ignore it completely or just go "oh, it's fine now" and quickly end the drama in the season premier.
  22. maybe you'd better be able to remember his face if you report this quickly. i'm no officer, but isn't there some time limit as far as being able to identify someone if you report it within a certain amount of time, vs. having to go through more standard procedures of a lineup and all that stuff? it sounds like the police would be able to pretty easily just get a school yearbook and you could identify the guy from that. the guy's friend certainly wouldn't rat him out, but it's too bad you didn't get the names/phone of the other witnesses there so that they'd be able to finger the guy, too. still wouldn't get the ipod back, but at least something would happen to this guy. obviously can't use that bus stop again once you report the dude. sure glad nothing worse happened to you beyond that.
  23. what happened to that whole faulty printer thing from last season? guess they're just ignoring that.
  24. I called Linksys' customer service, and their answer to my wireless router not working is to unplug the router and connect directly from the cable box to the computer. um, doesn't that defeat the purpose of buying the router in the first place? edit: much later, i love that even though one has to pick through a lot of garbage, the interwebs has the answer to everything. thanks, random poster on tech message board! now on to dealing with a Time Warner Cable problem. as my friend says, "They're the devil."
  25. how i read it: Watching Dave Bush pitch is enough to test the mettle of even the staunchest Dave Bush fan. ha!
