  1. I've been watching most every playoff game and this playoffs hasn't felt slow at all. It's only the second round, yet every second-round series has been great. There's already two games every day this week. Who's going to be watching these games if you had to squeeze in a third game on a Tuesday at 4:00ET? I also wouldn't want to have to wait a week between games if my team sweeps but has to wait for the next-round opponent to play a 7th game. Brogdon is out tonight. Sounds like Smart is a game-time decision, though if he plays Stevens said it'll only be in 3-5 minute spurts. I wonder if Stevens might build the Giannis Wall higher up a little more this game. Picking him up higher should do well to slow down his momentum, but should also leave more corner 3s open as well as easy buckets for a quick guy who can get underneath. But since the last two games have just been about giving up a 3rd Quarter run to Milwaukee, maybe the only thing worth changing is personnel if Milwaukee gets that momentum again.
  2. Eh, modern country isn't anything like the classic stuff, anyway. Modern country is just regular rock music but with the words "tractor" and "beer" thrown in every now and again. And the branding of it all is more insulting than anything, as if rural folks can't even show up to formal events in anything better than blue jeans and your best Tuesday button-down. But I guess that's what happens now that all music is made in a factory somewhere. The Tallest Man on Earth came near me, but I didn't feel like driving four hours to see a concert by myself. But he's probably become my favorite if you're into alt folk or folk-acoustic stuff.
  3. I think the biggest difference this game from the last was that Milwaukee took what they were given instead of trying to force an inside game. If they want to pack the paint into the defensive transition and leave a lot of 3s, so be it.
  4. Really happy for Denver. Saw the highlights and looked like it was a heck of a game. Jokic has got to be my favorite non-Buck player--never knew passing could be so exciting.
  5. Boy, I don't know if I should root for Philadelphia or Toronto. It's hard to figure which would be the easiest team to beat.
  6. Maybe trading down isn't really available. I hadn't ever seen Jones mocked before Haskins, so maybe there's something on Haskins that nobody is trying to trade up to get.
  7. Wouldn't mind Jaawan Taylor.
  8. Wonder now if it'll be Rashan Gary.
  9. Boston scares me more than Toronto or Philadelphia will. I think we're going to end up seeing a lot more of Ilyasova in place of Lopez just because Ilyasova has the better speed to be able to get out and protect the 3 while also being able to get back and defend the drive. With Lopez out there, Boston could very well feast on passing the ball around the perimeter until they can find whoever Lopez is guarding for either an open 3 if he's defending back, or to try and drive around him. I think what's going to determine the series is simply if Boston can hit a decent percentage of their 3-pt shots or not. They hit something like 37% in the four matchups against Milwaukee this season, and Hayward is better now than he was before.
  10. I don't think my phone has been charged for three days now. I don't have phone reception at work, so it's somewhat rare I use it anymore. The very few "sunrise" clocks I found with an actual alarm sound (chirping birds would have never woken me up) had poor/confusing displays. I found just a light bulb which works as a sunrise, so I'm excited to see if that helps. And on days off I just have to turn off the lamp! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MSN6X0S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also got an alarm clock you can attach a vibrating disc to to put under the mattress. They're used a lot by deaf people. It also looks pretty simple to use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019ZMQIOA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  11. Mine was that GE Digital Alarm Clock. Even with the annoying alarm sound, I hit the snooze twice in my sleep and another two times to slowly wake up. Yep, alarm set for 5:51 and don't get up until about 6:20. I'm liking these "sunrise" alarm clocks where the light gets gradually brighter. I think that would help. But the alarm sounds I'm seeing with them are just stuff like waves and birds chirping, and I have strong reservations about birds being able to wake me up. And will a "sunrise" do much good if I'm facing away from the clock?
  12. The alarm clock that I've had for 40 years is on the fritz. I'm kinda sad about it. I used to say that if there were a fire and I could only take one thing, that I'd take that alarm clock because it's been with me so long. No replacement available since the company has also been out of business for many years.
  13. If I remember the numbers correctly, LaFleur ran the ball 55% of the time in Jacksonville, while MM ran it 35% of the time. Granted, LaFleur didn't have a QB, but if he plans to run that much more, the RB from Alabama at 30 wouldn't surprise me.
  14. Before all this the Packers had so many big holes I thought trading the 12th for more picks would've been the best move. Now they still have the same needs, but it all just doesn't feel as desperate.
  15. Sure seems like the case with so many shows. As soon as some main character gets married, the show loses its edge.
  16. The Packers' problem isn't so much needing one superstar to get them over the hump, but getting a whole bunch of adequate players to replace positions that have been sub-par. If anything the Packers need five 2nd rounders more than two 1st rounders.
  17. Lopez and/or Mirotic (1b and 1a) are the highest re-sign priorities because the system relies on a stretch 5. After that I think Brogdon, or at least just the backup PG role, is the next-most valuable. The Brogdon/Bledsoe rotation has been great, plus Brogdon's FT shooting makes him great for late-game roles. And if Brogdon leaves, PG is more important than SG to leave it up to a late-round draft pick. That or you gotta spend what little FA money left on a suitable backup. Not that Middleton's 3pt shooting isn't huge to have on the team, but losing him is the least-big step backward. His role can be replaced by the current roster better than if we lost the other upcoming FAs. And unless two players accept a very reasonable contract to return, it just seems hard to figure that we'd have enough money available to re-sign Middleton plus give everyone else the raises they've earned.
  18. Kind of a moot point. He's not going to be on the team next year, anyway.
  19. At our work you've got the bereavement leave, but managers are also extremely flexible when it comes to the loss of a close family member. There's an effort made by managers to ensure enough vacation time is available so that the person can be absent as much as is needed and they don't feel rushed back before they're ready. At least going to the wake is a must on the part of the boss. At our work typically the co-workers go when it's someone that close, too. For co-workers going to the wake/funeral, there's no call on the part of the employer to have to take vacation time in order to do so, but it still counts as work hours.
  20. If it's such a close call in the final seconds, at least let the whole situation play out until Boston gets possession or Milwaukee gets a basket. Then blow the whistle and review the whole thing.
  21. It'll just be tougher, but it wouldn't necessarily be horrible. If it's a matter of not wanting to stay outside all night, you could always steam it to finish like you'd do if it were a corned beef. That'll ruin any crust you got, though. Have wanted an upgrade to my cheap-o smoker. Have my eyes on a smaller Rec-Tec pellet grill. But I'm reminded of about $4000 on my credit card that I need to pay off. Despite warm weather lately (at least here), I think I'm gonna have to wait on it.
  22. I worked at a place once that decided to do upward reviews. Nobody really liked the boss and it was the first time she'd heard the negative feedback and she cried in front of everyone as she was apologizing for her behavior. It took less than 24 hours before she reverted back to her usual ways.
  23. Drew Brees has four of the top-5 records for completion percentage in a season. The Saints' defense has always been bad, but it's got to be more than just dink-and-dunk offense making the Patriots great. Maybe it also has something to do with letting coordinators call the offensive and defensive plays during the game. Or maybe it's as simple as Bilichek being that much better at everyone else at gameplan strategy.
  24. I'd be fine with the NBA moving to 5 fouls. When a player pretty much only ever fouls out in overtime or if they just stink at D, than what's the point of counting? Or maybe keep it at 6 but reduce the number to get to the bonus by one, but they game really does slow down with all the FT shooting. I think that's an interesting suggestion to move back the 3. Or I would be curious how things would go if you kept it where it is, but eliminated the short line in the corner. The deeper 3 wouldn't be harder, but it would be a shorter diameter and would encourage more movement to get someone open for the shot. And you wouldn't have offenses designed like Snell just sitting in the corner for an entire offensive set.
  25. Whoa, Hill is not worth $19M per season. He's absolutely going to get bought out. Though I think Middleton is probably the 4th most important guy of the four to bring back, I do agree with the value of bringing guys back instead of going with someone new. It's that Ted Thompson strategy where it's better to pay the guy who has known skills in the system rather than paying the same money to someone who may or may not work out. Maybe Khris isn't as good this year or maybe (probably) it's the system not quite suiting him, but at the same time he does offer that value of being able to sink contested shots as the shot clock winds down, and I would trust him to do that more than I would Bledsoe or Brogdon. And it's not like there are tons of free agents floating around with his shooting ability, at least not ones who wouldn't cost $30M per season.
