  1. I'm assuming there is no "latest" here? Do we give them Cain if we miss the playoffs? If we make the playoffs?
  2. Corey Hart's pitch selection, enough said
  3. Totally agree on Hart, the best thing he has going for him is speed and its not like he steals 50 bags. His obp is horrible this year and especially in the 2nd half. Id consider trading him before Hardy or Fielder, maybe someone will overvalue the all star, 20/20 status. People are quick to dump Cameron but he has been better than Hart this year offensively and is a better defender. I'd most likely stick with the same outfield. If I get a deal I like for Hart I take it. Kapler, maybe Nelson, keep rightfield warm while Gamel plays of in Nashville. If we don't make the play-offs I assume we send Cleveland Cain. Cameron keeps center warm for Brantley and by 2010 my of for many years is Braun, Brantley, Gamel. I'm ok moving Gamel from 3rd, especially if we keep Green. Then again if we keep Hart I'm more likely to keep Gamel at 3rd, don't want any part of Hart in CF.
  4. I say Lamb. In fact, is Counsell that much better than him with the glove to justify Lamb not getting any starts NOW?
  5. You beat me to it. This is exactly what I was coming here to write. Just got home from work and saw Rivera in and got a nice chuckle.
  6. My name is Jimbo, and tonight was the final straw. I'm a very optimistic dude, but with the mets stalling and giving us a chance while we get embarassed by the....reds??!?!?! im done
  7. I want to give Weeks one more year, and try him anywhere but lead off, i dont care if hes the best option on the team to leadoff. He's too talented to not try something as simple as moving him down in the order, anywhere, for the slim chance it makes a big difference and he gets comfortable and starts mashing.
  8. No offense to you Greg, but the O's are delusional if they are holding out for a top talent like Escobar or Gamel for Roberts. He's a nice player, I'd like to have him, but no thanks if that's the cost.
  9. Ditto on abusing CC, count me in the bunch that would like to see him have some left for his next start, and the one after that and the one.....etc
  10. I've tried to give Yost the benefit of the doubt most of the time, but that's just insane. I'm so mad I feel like we lost. Whats the point? We're up 7 runs, he's over 100 pitches, he wore down in the play-offs last year. Does Yost not realize all of this? I hate Yost right now
  11. I only play sports games and I'd have to say this is the best one yet. I have it for ps3, I love it. I'm surprisingly good at it too, I'm 5-0 online and ranked like 300 something overall. That's by far the best I've ever been in a game. I've won with 5 diffferent teams too. Colts, Packers, Eagles, Chargers and Pats (had to do it). Right now I'm simulating seasons on ncaa 09 to export the draft classes so I can make a franchise on madden and draft real college players. They even have all the names, I can tell you how to easily download a roster with all players names if anyone is interested. But yeah, doing the off season and especially the draft in Madden is like my favorite part. I do it realistic style too, basically no FAs, like TT. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif So I rely on the draft, so it's especially fun to draft the real guys.
  12. This I don't agree with at all. I want CC and Sheets going the first two games because you're going to have to win a road game to win the series. I'd rather have Suppan and Parra at home and CC and Sheets on the road with CC then coming back for a potential game 5. With that said, I agree that first thing first, clinch a spot and make the play-offs, then go from there. BUT, if we do get a comfortable lead I'm all for doing what we have to do to ensure CC and Sheets throw out of the gates in the post-season.
  13. I'd prefer the Branyan/Hall platoon with Counsell as a defensive replacement and spot starts at short and 2nd.
  14. Excellent news. It will be interesting to see if he can stick behind the plate
  15. Agreed. I don't even care if they get in a shouting match, I'd prefer they wait until after the game but I can at least understand it. Shoving him where he could seriously get hurt is way overboard. Yell and disagree all you want, you don't do something that can hurt your teammate and your team.
  16. Braun Hardy Parra Yo Hart
  17. It wasn't just a shove and he walked away. He had to be physically held back by like 5 people even after Parra was just sitting there. That's way overboard and pretty pathetic to see an adult acting like that. The team is going to say the right thing, but just look at Hardy and Braun holding him back, they are clearly pissed at him. I've been on teams through college too and things will happen, especially heated arguments. But, when it takes 5 guys to hold a guy back DURING a game, there's a serious issue with the dude.
  18. Surprised no one else has mentioned this. I was happy with how Braun and JJ reacted, but Durham basically tackled him. I respect Durham a lot for that. He hasn't been here that long and he isn't that big but he was right there. Arguing and yelling is one thing, those things happen, attacking your starting pitcher is boneheaded. I'm sure all will be well and I really doubt this has a lasting effect on the team at all. I'm still disgusted with Fielder though. Parra was sideways to him and defenseless. He could have twisted a knee, ankle, landed awkwardly on his wrist or elbow. It's idiotic and unacceptable. I don't see anything good coming out of this, and it seems like it's pretty indicative that there are some pretty serious issues going on with this team that we don't know a whole lot about. Hopefully, everybody in the organization takes a good long look in the mirror and realize what the real problem is. Ned Yost needs to go I couldn't disagree more. Pretty serious issues with the team because Prince acted like a moron? Don't think so..How on earth does this mean Yost has to go? I'm not exactly a Yost supporter but that's just ridiculous to me. The one thing I can blame him for is being a jerk to the reporters for asking about it, but so what?
  19. He didnt just nudge him, he shoved him onto the bench and had to be held back by like 5 guys. Let me say that again, HE HAD TO BE HELD BACK, he didn't just push him and game over. Heated words or arguing is passionate and not a problem, shoving your #3 starter into the bench is moronic.
  20. Last time the Brewers were in AZ I was listening to their broadcast on xm and their announcers were talking A LOT about Prince's body language and seemingly apathetic attitude towards everything. The Brewers were in the field and were setting up a bunt defense and Prince was just standing behind the runner with his hand on his hip like he wasn't even paying attention on defense. They also said he moved a runner over once by grounding to the right side and mike maddux went to show him some love when he came back to the dugout and he just blew him off. There will be those who ignore things like this and say baseball is only about the stats and chemistry means nothing, but I don't care, you don't blow your coaches and teammates off like that and you certainly dont slam one of your starting pitchers into the bench. It seriously seems like he only cares about hitting bombs. Sometimes he shows emotion after big homeruns by his teammates but if youre a leader you cant be moping around because youre slumping, chemistry and attitude is a factor I don't care how much some will dispute that.
  21. Not cool by Prince, what could Parra possibly have said?
  22. I have been very pleased with Kendall defensively and how he handles the staff. With that said, I don't think the difference between him and Rivera defensively is so massively great that he should play every single day and risk wearing down, when you have a back up that has done nothing but perform when given the chance. More starts for Rivera
  23. For this year, I agree with starting Rickie still but Durham spotting him against some RHPs, maybe play some match-ups based on career splits vs the opponent's starters. Going forward, I still can't give up on him like some have. I do think it's worth a try to bat him somewhere else. He's flat out said he's not as comfortable leading off. It's really hard to argue that he's better leading off because his only chances not leading off were very early in his career. Hardy is an example, whether it's coincidence that he got hot, or "protection", or just comfort level, he has been way better in the 2 hole. Whether it's placebo or not, the spot where they bat in the order does effect some guys.
  24. Good, he's not even that good of a rightfielder, let alone cf. Not sure why people are so anxious to shift him to center. I think our next Cf needs to be a leadoff option. I want to give Weeks a shot lower in the order before I give up on him and move him.
  25. I want him to dominate AAA pitching in his 3rd year there. A sub .700 ops is hardly "nothing left to prove" territory.
