  1. How about limiting number of pitchers on the 26/40 man rosters? What are two biggest complaints right now? Length of game and 3TO offense. Reduce the number of pitchers, and you won't have 10 pitching changes every game. You'll also force pitchers to go longer than you'd like, increasing scoring. I really think that, and skrinking the strike zone a bit would really help.
  2. This has been ignored, and tells us this could work out very well for the Brewers. Also, people are so in love with Rasmussen because he "throws gas." So what, so does everyone else these days. Throwing a straight fastball is nothing to get excited about.
  3. First thing as with any TV, update firmware to make sure you have most current version. Since Bally is so new, that may be why it's not showing up. You shouldn't need to buy another device. If you still don't see it, you have to search for the app- I had to do that on one of my TVs. But I have 2 smart TVs, another with a Firestick, and a fourth with Roku- I can get the Bally app on all of them.
  4. Diakite and Nwora definitely have upside. Diakite has a nice all around game, and Nwora can flat out score.
  5. $54MM for Yelich and Cain, if Bradley exercises his option that's $64MM. Spending money isn't the problem, they need the same thing in 2022 they need this year. Yelich, and Hiura close to their 2019 numbers, and Cain being productive enough to be an asset. Narvaez and Wong then give you 5 procuctive bats, Urias may be 6. I don't see them spending massive money on another position player, they have to find league avg guys the Brewer way. Go to the next tier and get lucky. Sorry, they're not the Dodgers, they can't just throw $25MM at 6 or 7 guys. They xould get a high quality pre-arby bat, but would have to trade Hader to get him. I know it's frustrating, but "just go get two more expensive bats" isn't an option.
  6. My oldest turned 12 May 4, and he's said from the beginning that he wants to get vaccinated as soon as he is able to. He goes in for his first shot at 7:30 a.m. next Tuesday. My 16 year old is totally against it. Sucks, but I'm not going to force him. At that age, their opinions are solely based on the input of their friend base, I'm afraid. Afraid of what? You have about 48 things to be more afraid of with a 16 year old than Covid.
  7. Don't be shy about slicing up some fresh jalapenos or habaneros for those brats. Also, polish > brats. But you need to find a butcher who really knows how to make great polish sausage.
  8. Hate to break this to you, but you're not anonymous. We all know you're nodakfan17 ; )
  9. Remember all the times Rodgers made a comment about "going home and having a scotch" after the game. Always that it was strange, because he said it in a dry, slightly facetious way. Now I'm thinking that's a subtle inside dig at Gute. As in, yea the old man somehow won a game, and will savor it over a scotch. I do think it's a lot of little things, but he really believes Gute was/is trying to replace him this year or next. In reality, after Rodgers 19-20 season it was reasonable for Gute to prepare for the worst. Have a plan b ready in case Rodgers really started showing his age. Rodgers has taken that personally, and here we are.
  10. That's where I was coming from. I get it, but there is no 10th inning if Rasmussen or someone similar pitches the 9th and loses the game.
  11. All Rodgers had to do is wait a year. If he's as smart ss he thinks he is, he would know the Packers can't trade him now. Next year, it could have worked out for all involved.
  12. If its all media fantasy, then Rodgers should have come out with a definitive response by now. Even a simple tweet. I've said since the draft last year I think this is all about length of contract extension. Rodgers likely wanted it structured so the cap allowed him to play out his career, Packers likely wanted to commit for 3 or 4 years. If I'm right, neither side is really wrong. But if Rodgers is unhappy, he needs to be a big boy and realize he needs to play one more year in GB with a smile on his face, then he can be traded wherever he wants.
  13. This team was built around Yelich and Hiura hitting. Put Cain and Wong in front of them and Narvaez behind them and the lineup looks very different. That also means less ABs for Garcia and JBJ of course, and you can manage their production. Oh, and yes it is April. Maybe, just maybe, give it a couple more months before we even begin claiming any of these deals were mistakes.
  14. It's way too early, of course, to call the Grisham trade a mistake. As for Taylor, reality is they're paying Garcia and JBJ too much to ride the pines in May. They will have a long leash. Everyone was talking about McKinney like this until he cooled off. It's a long season, at some point the best bats will become more obvious, and they will play. Short term, Taylor will get plenty of ABs.
  15. Would sound good, sure, but true answer is "this is 2021 and this stuff happens." Most players these days don't hustle on pop ups, routine grounders, etc. Even base hits and doubles, they run 3/4 speed or so and then turn it on if the ball is bobbled. Yoy rarely see players bust it hard and round the base. Avi's pop-up is a more extreme example, to be sure.
  16. I would look to trade Garcia for a righty who can play 3B/1B. Split of same kind with Vogelbach, probably over 50%, and can play 3B at times to give Shaw a blow. Send Hiura down, even all season if it works out that way. Roll with McKinney in RF, JBJ still gets a ton of ABs and Taylor is 5th OF. To me that's the solution, but easier said than done.
  17. Narvaez needs more love. 173 OPS+. Yet you rarely see any props for him here or anywhere. As far as the roation goes, nobody has any earthly idea who the 3rd SP will be come playoff time. 5 months is a lonnnnng time. If Peralta is consistently at hus best in September, he's your guy. If not, could be Anderson, Houser, somwone called up, or trade acquisition.
  18. In the spirit of JP hitting a HR last night, my predictions for more unlikely karma today: Leading off the game, Bradley walks then D-Rob blasts 2 run HR. (Earlier in the IGT, everyone loved the fact CC had him in the 2-hole.) Doogie twirls a CG shutout, Brewers sweep.
  19. Which makes it even tougher, because guys like McKinney know how much is riding on every ab. If they fail, they never know if or when they'll have another chance.
  20. Which tells you all those stats are still subjective, and often wrong. Defensive metrics another good example. It looks so scientific, it's not.
  21. This inspired me to go re-read that Frosty Boys thread from October 2018, and that nickname is still as cringey now as it was then. So bad. Gold. Wasn't "pile on" and coach Cooper that same season as well?
