  1. I don't think it will look particularly silly. My original post (OP) in the thread clearly indicates Counsell is a solid manager and I don't want any other person managing the team. I think a majority of the posts have indicated the same thing. That does not absolve him from being critiqued. The critique I referenced in the OP really indicates that Counsell has fallen more into a traditional manager (Williams 8th, Hader 9th inning guys) than the innovator he was at the beginning of his tenure and a lack of answers for a stagnant offense. Sure some of it can be chalked up to rule changes like the 3 batter minimum, but 3 hot games of hitting does not cure all ails. Now, if the Crew continues to hit the way it has over the past 3 games (which I hope it does), I will gladly eat crow related to Counsell, Haines and Cruz. Similar to the crow most of us have eaten in the past two years regarding Chris Hook. Keep in mind, no one was advocating for Counsell to be fired, only that he shoulder some of the blame related to the Brewers not hitting. Let's see Hiura, JBJ, Urias, and Cain get their averages above the Mendoza line before we declare the Brewers hitting issues have been solved. I would still like for Counsell to be more the innovator he was in 2017-2019 timeframe, but I understand the changing of the rules of the game may limit that innovation a bit. I don't blame a manager for how hitters hit. Ok, maybe .001% responsible. Cain is 35 and missed all of last year. Hiura struck out a ton in the minors, and some of feared he was no guaranteed hit machine. To be fair, I don't give CC credit for Shaw or Narvaez either. Innovation. Well, much of that comes from analytics/ Stearns. They may finally have the luxury to go the traditional approach. Starters generally going 6, couple options for the 7th with a lead, 8th inning guy, closer. Just because that's traditional doesn't mean it's not the best approach with this staff.
  2. Sorry, should have put that in blue. Goes to show why we use blue, never woyld have thought anyone would believe CC would have said that. My bad.
  3. I liked CC comments about the Perdomo blunder: "Hey, you try keeping up with merry go round of crap circling through the end of our bullpen!"
  4. Sounds like fun, and what you should be doing if you're vaccinated.
  5. His "only 5-6 inning" starts so far this season would win him the Cy Young at this pace, not a #5 starter in the rotation.
  6. I have been using someone else's Spectrum login for Fox Sports Go since last fall for the Bucks and now Brewers. Enjoy it while it lasts, I'm guessing Spectrum will put a stop to it somehow eventually.
  7. Perdomo looked unhittable at times in Spring Training. His biggest speed bump, as always, will be command. But if he has finally found that, he has the makings of a potential asset in the pen. Hopefully Yardley figures something out and can come back closer to the pitcher he was in 2020. A guy with his type of stuff has to be impeccable hitting his spots, and Yardley has missed far to often in his opportunities this year. I doubt Perdomo has fully found his command, but that's ok. He's still a better option than Yardley.
  8. Coach Cooper. He could coach circles around any of the current MLB managers. Never got a shot though because he "didn't play by the rules"
  9. Well, in Wisconsin specifically the numbers can't get much lower as long as the minority numbers don't improve drastically. Black 15%, Hispanic 19%. Now, if we were going by the original goal of flattening the curve, not overwhelming the healthcare system we've accomplished that. But the bar has moved, and normal will not return as long as we have current case numbers. And if the vast majority of minorities in urban areas don't get vaccinated the current numbers will plateau as they have for a month now.
  10. As long as minority communities take a pass on getting vaccinated, we are likely to be stuck at the current levels for quite a while. Very manageable, but we'll continue to see cuurent level of cases and deaths indefinitely. Outreach is needed to urge minority populations to get vaccinated. Obama? The Bucks? Not sure how, but we're losing the PR game.
  11. This is not shocking. Clancy pays no attention to age/level. We all know this, it's his right to feel this way.
  12. He was the Korean Cy Young; he likely had multiple multi-year offers. But yeah, there’s a reason he was in Korea in the first place.... he can’t get major league hitters out consistently Yes he can. A scorcher right at Shaw and another ball caught up against the wall, no problem getting mlb hitters out.
  13. For the guy that mocks every flyer acquisition Stearns ever makes, Feyereisen is the perfect example of why you do it.
  14. I think we're over-estimating CC's role in managing the SP outings, line-up, etc. Analytics dept., training staff, and ultimately Stearns has a lot to say about it. CC doesn't just randomly decide Hiura is going to hit 2nd, and especially not decide on his own how many pitches/ innings a starter is going in the 2nd start of the season.
  15. For me, Urias is "baked in." I didn't expect anything from him. What hurts is Hiura/Garcia. Two guys they really want to play, and should be productive. If they're not, pretty easy to fix- just a matter of how patient they are. Plenty of OF options if Garica doesn't heat up, and I"m high on Vogelbach if Hiura continues to struggle. Vogelbach should get more starts regardless IMHO. Finally Cain and JBJ were both knicked up a little so they eased them back in. Hopefully they're fully ready to go now, and consistent ABs from them will help immensely.
