  1. We have no idea if more days off would even help him. It does seem like that makes sense, but for all we know more days off has no effect on his health or performance.
  2. Mike Fiers, welcome back to The Show. (Oh, and by the way, we need you to be the stopper in the rotation.)
  3. Well, that wasn't very optimisitc. Here's one to get the optimism thread back on track. Every time someone has caught them in the standings, they seem to win 5 of 6 or something like that to extend the lead back to to 3 1/2 games. Sure, it would be nice to pull away and never look back. But this team isn't good enough to do that, especially with the schedule they have. I'll take 1st place on 8/14.
  4. Gainey's fastball consistently at 94, touched 95.
  5. At this point in the season, I don't know why you would mess with moving Wang somewhere else. He either stays in Appleton, or gets called up to the Brewers after 9/1 to make it look good.
  6. Regarding fan etiquette, Wrigly is much worse. Seems like most of the fans there could care less about baseball. They are there to be seen, and be able to say they were at Wrigley. Last few times I've been there a good portion of my section were standing in the aisles, getting up and down 500 times an inning, taking selfies, etc. It's ridiculous. At least at Miller Park it's not that bad. Cost is my biggest factor. I'm too old to want to go to game and sit in bad seats, rather be at home. Which means I have to pay a lot for even decent seats, and that has really limited the number of games I attend. But hey, they're doing great with attendance so they obviously don't need me to be there.
  7. 1) International players have to be included in the annual MLB draft. 2) Hard floor/ceiling cap 3) 27 man active roster 4) Kill instant replay except in the playoffs. 5) Add more ribbon style scoreboards to all NL parks.
  8. What will it mean when he does? Are we rooting for this? Do we want his FA price to rise? Sure, why not? According to everyone here wins are meaningless, so it won't affect his arby numbers or FA price tag one bit.
  9. Haven't seen him play 3B, but reports are that he needs work. Can we expect improvement? That's impossible to know. I really thought Weeks would continue to get much better defensively, and that never happened. People never thought Segura could develop into a MLB SS, but he has.
  10. You may not see the value, but I bet his agent does. That's why it matters.
  11. Braun barely cracks the top 5 hitters on his own team, so pretty tough to say he's one of the three best in the entire NL.
  12. Not likely. 6 wins in 9 starts is not impossible, but will be really tough.
  13. sWe responded with a sammy sosa chant earlier this year at wrigley. Best part? The cubs "fans" had no clue what the reference meant.
  14. Davey sounds like my elderly uncle trying to explain a double switch when he was half in the bag.
  15. There needs to be some semblance of reason. When the SS has the ball and the runner is just getting around 3B, a reasonable coach would say "hey, we only have one out, I'm going to hold up here" We're just running wily-nily lately with no regard to situation. Yes, but its obviously fine with RR since this is far from the first time weve seen that.
  16. Dream scenerio. Davey and Augie in da booth together.
  17. Sedar does whst RR wants him to do- be a human windmill. Not his fault.
  18. I don't see Jason Rogers getting any playing time. He could be used as a PH for sure, but that's it. RR isn't going to give him playing time over Ramirez/Reynolds. Schafer yes. Falu or some other UT, yes. Another bullpen arm or too, yes. That's about it, RR doesn't like a bunch of call-ups and I tend to agree. Not sure what Gindl gives you.
  19. Basically how I see it. No need to bring up a bunch of mediocre arms and utility guys. Wang, because they have to. Then Schafer, Bianchi (or Bianchi type), Rogers (big PH bat) and one other pitcher (looking like Pena at the moment.) If either Henderson or Thorny can come back and be effective that would be a huge bonus.
